One School, One Book: The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary!
For generations, readers have fallen in love with this adventurous mouse and his thrilling discovery of a toy motorcycle. I imagine that many of our families will find this book to be familiar. Whether you’re reading it again or for the first time, this book will bring humor, imagination, and heart to readers of all ages.
This story reflects an important belief we hold as a school community. When one of us helps someone else, we all grow because a rising tide lifts all boats. One School, One Book program is designed to bring our entire school community together through the joy of reading.
Over the next two weeks, you can read along at home with staff read-aloud videos. We also invite families to read along together at home each night. Sharing the story at home helps build excitement, strengthens reading habits, and creates wonderful opportunities for conversation about the book.

Books have gone home today with all students. If you have multiple children at the school, the book will be given to the oldest sibling. Students also received copies of the calendar for reading and optional activities. Any completed activity can be brought to the office. Students can write their names on a raffle ticket for each completed activity. A drawing will be held when we have finished reading.

Register for Kindergarten Now to Attend Open House May 12
Do you know an incoming Kindergartener for the 2026-2027 school year? Please encourage families to begin registration early. Only registered families will receive information and be invited the Kindergarten Open House in May. Visit the Norwalk Public Schools website to start or call the Main Office for help.
