A Message from the Principal
Dear Academy Families and Friends,
Happy Solstice Day-It's the longest day of the year and we're one week shy of closing out the 2025-2026 School year. While it seems longer than most year, I have to say it's been an amazing one filled with learning, growing and a whole lot activities over the course of the year. There's nothing quite like it.
Here are a few key things to remember:
- The 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony is at 1:30PM tomorrow.
- Thank you again for all of the chromebooks and chargers from the 3rd and 4th graders being returned. This will help us get the carts ready for the upcoming school year. 5th grade students will be taking their devices with them to Chapman as they transition to middle school.
- The Final 5 Begins Tomorrow!!! Let's end the year with some school spirit.
- Library book check...as we close out the year.-please do an extra sweep for any Library books.
- Friday is the last day of school-it is a half day of school dismissal at 11:50AM.
As we close out the school year, I want to say thank you for all of the support from our families and community. Over the course of this school year, we were able to do so much for our students and it's largely in part to the strength and commitment of our volunteers and supportive parents helping out...whether its homework support at the kitchen table, nightly reading with your child, connecting with teachers to support the learning process, or providing those helping hands we need to run programs and opportunities, it all contributes to the amazing experiences we can offer to our students. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Mr. Patrick J. Higgins

Playground Etiquette
Playground Expectations
As the weather continues to improve, we are so excited to see our Academy families using the playground after school. Consistency is so important for our students that we find it important to share with you our playground expectations that we provide to the students during the school day. We hope this carries over to after school and beyond:
Everyone plays – Every game is open to whoever wants to play as long as those playing are being safe, respectful and responsible during the game. Including others are expected behaviors.
Play safe – Students must play so that they and others are not physically or emotionally hurt. Students must avoid rough play, unsafe play, and name-calling. Examples of unsafe play include jumping from the top of the play structure or sliding into someone still on or near the end of the slide.
Be Respectful- Students will listen and follow directions. They will be kind and provide other students an opportunity to use the play structure. Keep hands and feet to themselves. Please stay away and out of the woods and please remember to keep sticks and stones on the ground and away from the play areas. Ball play should be reserved to the baseball field and away from the play structures.
