Parents/Guardians,
Quarter 2 is under way and over the next few weeks we are highlighting at GBS the idea and concept of being "Locked In". Each of the advisories had conversations in late October about what engagement in the classroom looks like. What it all boiled down to is this idea of being "Locked In" which according to students means; Paying attention, listening, respecting the learning of other, focusing on how you work best, active participation, and questioning.
Please encourage your student to be "Locked In" to their learning!
If your student is interested in participating in a winter sport, now is the time. Sign ups have been going on this week in the cafe and information has been going to those who have signed up. I do realize that this might be the first time that you are hearing about it and might like your student to participate in boys or girls basketball, wrestling, or cheerleading. If that is the case, please do not hesitate to reach out the Mrs. Anderson (canderson@conval.edu).
FYI, boys and girls basketball tryouts are on November 12th and November 14th from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm. The first day of team practice will be on November 17th from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
Thursday, October 30th around 4:00 PM, Dr. Forrest, our Superintendent, tested our school messenger service in preparation for winter weather delays and closings. You should have received a test phone call as well as an email. If you did not receive the call and/or email, please contact Judy Tremblay, the District’s Student Information Systems Coordinator, at jtremblay@conval.edu. Judy will work with you to make any needed changes so that you receive messages moving forward. Thank you for your time and attention.
As always, thank you for partnering with us in helping your student be all that they can. Enjoy the extra long weekend!
Sincerely,
Adam Caragher, Principal ~ GBS
