Senior Last Day Event and Check-out - Updated 6/2

On June 16th from 2:00pm to 6:00pm we will host a Senior Last Day Event and Senior Checkout at the International School Of Beaverton 17770 SW Blanton St, Beaverton, OR 97007. This will be a drive-up event where we will:
  • distribute the ECHS Dual Credit honor cord
  • collect and check-in chromebooks
  • collect textbooks checked out or purchased by ECHS.
  • collect any textbooks students would like to donate to future ECHS students.
  • We will have a photographer on hand to take photos of our students in their caps and gowns

While we are still hoping for an in-person graduation ceremony in August we will use these photographs for our Virtual Graduation if necessary. Students please arrive with your cap and gowns so that we can capture your photo. Photos will be available for purchase from the photographer and they will send you that information directly. Below are additional logistics

To ensure proper social distancing for the photography we will be sending you a sign up later this week so that you can sign up for a time slot.

Senior Recognitions - June 16th - updated 5/25

June 16th was the date of our original graduation ceremony. On that date we will be announcing special ECHS recognitions and awards like valedictorian, salutatorians, several ECHS scholarships etc that we would have announced at our graduation. Please make sure that you have the Senior Exit Survey completed by June 10th so that we can recognize your individual accomplishment and also the class of 2020’s overall accomplishments.

Partner High School Transcripts, Diplomas, Check-Out and Senior Events - Updated 5/25

As you know, transcripts and diplomas are distributed by home/cross-enrolled high schools. Because of our current situation, many schools have changed their normal practices. Last week counselors shared with students and parents a spreadsheet of all the end of year plans that we are aware of from our partner schools. Given the current reality and how quickly information changes, we are stressing to all our students to continue to monitor your home school’s website and communication for changes.

Info about ECHS In-Person Graduation Ceremony

Q: When will you know if we can have an in-person graduation?

A: Our goal will be to have an in-person graduation. On or about July 10th, Beaverton School District Administrators will decide on which type of ceremony we will be able to hold an in-person graduation with grads and guests, in person with grads only or a virtual graduation ceremony.

Q: ECHS Graduation: Senior Speeches?

A: ECHS chooses one to two seniors to give addresses during graduation. The speeches are 2 to 3 minutes in length and we send a notice to students shortly where they can submit a draft speech for consideration. Senior speeches will be included in our planned in-person ceremony and in a virtual ceremony if it is necessary.

Q: ECHS Graduation: Senior Recognition?

A: We would like to recognize senior accomplishments in our program. We will send a survey to students shortly to gather this information so that these accomplishments can be recognized.

Q: Will the event filmed or streamed online?

A: Yes, the Beaverton School District I.T. department will be filming and streaming the planned in-person graduation. Those friends and family not able to attend the event will be able to view the event through a reliable internet connection.

Virtual Graduation Information:

The goal is an in-person graduation. if social distancing guidelines do not allow for an in-person graduation we will move to a virtual graduation on August 7th. We will send updated information about the virtual graduation soon.

Virtual Graduation will include the same components of an in-person ceremony.

  • Student speeches will be broadcast or recorded,
  • awards and student achievements will be recognized
  • Individual graduates will be recognized

Virtual ceremonies typically include students uploading a photo of themselves in their cap and gown and we will have more info on how students will submit photos in the coming weeks.

Cap and Gown Pick Up - Orders placed before Spring Break

For students that ordered Caps and Gowns before Spring Break we are working with Jostens on a drive-thru pick up at a local high school. We hope to have a date, time and location within the next two weeks.

All Early College students receive a gold dual credit cord and we would like to distribute those cords at the same time as the Caps and Gowns. The cords have been ordered and once we have an arrival date we will be able to publish a pick-up date and location.

Thank you for your patience.

New Cap and Gown Ordering:

It is not too late to order cap and gowns. If you are just now ordering Cap and Gowns you will need to pick them up from Josten's offices in Hillsboro and allow 3 weeks or so for delivery.

Instruction: If you plan on participating in ECHS Graduation only

  • Go to https://www.jostens.com
  • Choose Early College High School PORTLAND
  • Select Graduation Package or Browse ALL GRAD & Cap/Gown
  • Scroll down to Cap & Gown and select “Browse All Cap and Gowns” Cap/Gowns/Tassels can be ordered individually.
  • The Early College Robes are Black, if you would like to wear your home school colors instead, you will need to order that from: Jostens for BSD and HSD. And herffjones for TTSD using your high school, instead of Early College as the selected school.

If you plan on graduating with your BSD cross-enrolled high school ceremony only

  • Beaverton and School District students orders are placed through
  • Select Graduation Package or Browse ALL GRAD & Cap/Gown to purchase only cap/gown/tassel
  • Cap & Gown pick-up will be at your home high school or sent in mail

If you are planning on participating in both the Early College and your home high school graduation events

  • Follow the instructions for High School Graduation from above
  • Cap & Gown orders will be pick-up at your high school
  • You do not need to purchase two sets of robes for ECHS and home school graduation. Wear your home school robe to the ECHS ceremony.

Questions about tickets and Guests at an in-person ECHS Graduation Ceremony

Schools will allot a small number of tickets due to social distancing requirements. If Governor Brown relaxes social distancing requirements, we may make adjustments to the number of tickets they allot based upon social distancing guidelines and stadium capacity. The graduation event will be live-streamed and available to those who cannot attend in person.

If Necessary: A smaller scale ceremony that will only include the graduates. The graduation event will be live-streamed.

We will have more information about tickets and capacity as we get closer to the event date

Info and Questions about Cross Enrolled high school graduation.

We do not have information about TTSD and HSD high school graduation ceremonies. All ECHS TTSD and HSD students that meet graduation requirements qualify for the ECHS graduation ceremony and we want them to attend.

Q: Can I attend graduation with my cross enrolled high school?

A: Yes, ECHS students earn their diploma from their cross-enrolled high school. This is either your neighborhood high school or a BSD option school. Students must meet graduation requirements before the ceremony.

Q: Can I attend both cross enrolled and ECHS graduation?

A: As the possibility of in-person graduations will be based on the number of attendees we are asking that students choose one. Either the cross-enrolled high school graduation or the ECHS graduation. Thank you for your understanding.

Q: How does the home-school know we want to attend their graduation?

We will send a graduation ceremony survey to students and they can RSVP for home and ECHS graduation at that time. We will send share this information and with home schools.

Anyone interested in attending a cross enrolled schools graduation should 1)Check that school’s website to determine the important dates, timelines, cap and gown ordering, and senior meeting information.

No information from Hillsboro and TTSD home high schools about delayed graduations has been released. HSD and TTSD students should check their home high school websites for up-to-date information.
