RMS in Boston!

On Thursday, May 16th and Friday May 17th, RMS 7th Grade Students and Faculty went to Boston, MA! Some of what we saw/did were: Harvard Square, Harvard Museum, The Freedom Trail, Duck Boat Tour, Uss Constituion Visit, and a tour of Fenway Park. We had a blast!

Thank you Mr. Soltish for all of your planning and organizing for an awesome trip for our students!

Congrats, New Inductees!

The newest inductees of the RMS Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society were officially inducted on May 13th! Congratulations to all of our new inductees and their families. Keep up the hard work!

A big thanks to our NJHS Advisor, Ms. Paredes, for all of your organization and for putting on a great ceremony. Also, thank you PTO for the delicious cake afterwards!

Attention 6th Grade Families!

Tomorrow is our 6th Grade Field Trip to Boundless Adventures in Purchase, NY! Here is the important information:

1. The Field Trip Permission Slip is below. Your student was also sent home with a paper copy last week.

2. A completed waiver (done online!) is required along with the permission slip. Use this link to complete the waiver: https://pos.boundlessadventures.net/boundlessadventuresny/event/join/122671-425d

3. The cost of the trip is $50. Since the Roller Magic field trips are cancelled this year, if your child paid for Roller Magic and is going to attend Boundless Adventures, we will apply the $20 to this new trip for a remaining cost of $30. If your child is not attending Boundless Adventures and paid the $20 for Roller Magic, we will be issuing refunds this week.

RMS PTO Corner

It is the end of the year and the PTO still has lots of events coming up.

The last PTO meeting of the year is this Tuesday 6/4 at 7 pm. We hope you can join us in person in the RMS Library or by zoom using this link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83031723896?pwd=un3KWdylaxvAcBF1Wew9EPqyA0GWyz.1. Grab a friend and join us to celebrate the end of the year.

The Honors Tea is Monday June 10th. If your student made the honor roll for all 3 quarters this year you are invited to this special event to celebrate their hard work. Join us at Beacon High School as we recognize them and have a small reception afterwards with light refreshments. Volunteers and donations are needed for the event. Please check out our sign up here.

The PTO will be bringing in ice cream with the help of Stewarts Shop for an end of year treat on Thursday June 20th. We need parent volunteers to help scoop. Please check out the sign up here.

The 8th Grade Formal is Friday June 14th, and the 8th Grade Picnic is Tuesday June 25th. The PTO supplies refreshments (for free) for the students during these events. We will also be renting a cotton candy machine for the dance. If you would like to donate to the refreshments check out our sign up links. Money can be donated to the events by cash, check made out to Rombout PTO, Venmo @DotDiNobile or Cash App $DotDiNobile.

Check out the Formal Sign Up here. Check out the Picnic Sign Up here.

It has been a great year and the PTO was able to support many things for our RMS students and staff, from purchasing a wheelbarrow for the environmental club, paint for advanced art, purchasing balls for the playground, contributing to field trips, staff appreciation luncheon, and more. The PTO could not do this without support from the RMS community through donations and more importantly having volunteers to organize and run events. The RMS PTO does not have a board for next school year and is in jeopardy of not existing. The current members are moving on to BHS next year. We NEED people to fill the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer positions. I will happily work with you as long as it takes to support you and make sure the PTO continues. If you would like to find out more about the positions reach out to me at romboutpto@gmail.com or call/text me at 845-235-2098. You can also join me at the last meeting of the year this Tuesday 6/4 at 7 pm. Please help us spread the word to any incoming Rombout families as well.

As always, Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Dottie DiNobile

PTO President
