Message from the Principal
Dear Lamoille Union Students, Families, and Caregivers,
The new school year is off to an incredible start at LUHS! Thank you to everyone who joined us for New Student Orientation. We had an outstanding turnout, with nearly 90% of our new students and families in attendance. We appreciate our incoming families, faculty, and returning Lancers who stepped up to demonstrate the culture of leadership and mentorship that makes Lamoille so special.
If this is your first LUHS newsletter, welcome! In each biweekly update, I share photos and highlights to celebrate our campus community alongside important reminders and key dates. Please be sure to review the updates below, and feel free to reach out anytime with questions, concerns, or feedback.
-Bethann Pirie, LUHS Principal

Below: During in-service, our middle and high school teachers joined together to advance cross-building curriculum work and align our proficiency-based systems. Educators engaged in professional development focused on brain-based science, equipping our staff to refine teaching practices that directly support how the adolescent brain learns best.
Below: Welcome to Lamoille Union, Class of 2030! We would like to give a huge thank you to our amazing student leaders (pictured below) who volunteered their evening to answer questions, guide campus tours, and welcome our newest Lancers. We also want to recognize student speakers James Wallace and Quinn Sheldon for sharing their insights with our incoming students and families.

Below: Lamoille students received an LU t-shirt and pair of sunglasses to kick off the new school year! Shoutout to Senior Class President Caleb Wells and our senior student leaders for unpacking boxes and setting up tables to pull this event together.
Below: After completing a school-wide safety activity (covering everything from drills to knowing who to reach out to for support) TA groups put their knowledge to the test in a timed quiz. Congratulations to Greg Davis's TA for pulling off a narrow victory to take home the win in our first competition of the year!
