Letter From the Director- Susan Gregurek

Dear Library Community,

We extend our gratitude to EVERYONE who attended our BBQ and Bounce House Bash! This year, we raised more funds than ever before at the event!

Progress on Our Future

This summer, we have been focused on our future, although we've encountered a few bumps along the way (literally). Our building is nearing completion, and we are in the process of obtaining our final permits to commence utility construction. We are currently seeking a general contractor to help us navigate the challenges as we move forward. We are incredibly thankful to Sonterra MUD for their understanding and for allowing us to remain at our location through August—this has truly been a blessing.

Exciting Leadership Announcement

Our Library Team is thrilled to announce Jeff Radke as the leader of our Capital Campaign, alongside entrepreneur Sam Smith as his partner. We appreciate the community members who have stepped up to help raise funds for our new state-of-the-art 5,000 square foot library building! Stay tuned as our dreams are becoming a reality!

Join Us for the Rising Country Stars of Texas Music Concert and Dance on July 25th from 6:00 to 11:00 PM!

It's time for some fun! Join us for a delightful family evening as we celebrate our future and raise funds for our transition. The concert will now be held at the Williamson County Sheriff Posse's Rodeo Arena in Jarrell and will feature Elle Townley, the 2025 Texas Young Adult Vocalist of the Year, and headliner Bri Bagwell, a nine-time Texas Vocalist of the Year! Enjoy food trucks, vendors, drinks, a bounce house, and more at this family-friendly event. Ticket reservations are now available: Reserve your tickets here.

If you’re interested in being a vendor or a sponsor, we would love to have you join in on the fun!

Summer Is Better Together: Finding Connection and Calm

Summer is often a season of fun and relaxation, but changes in routine, busy schedules, and even the Texas heat can take a toll on our mental well-being.

Take time to slow down and care for yourself. Read a book, take a walk, spend time with loved ones, or simply enjoy a few quiet moments. Small acts of self-care can make a big difference, and remember that it's okay if your summer doesn't look like anyone else's.

Connection is one of the best ways to support your mental health. Whether it's attending a community event, checking in with a friend, or joining a local group, staying connected reminds us that we don't have to navigate life's challenges alone.

At the Jarrell Community Library & Resource Center, we're here to support our community through peer support services, programs, and a welcoming place to connect. This summer, take care of yourself—and don't hesitate to reach out. Together, we can build a healthier, more connected community.

Closing the Chapter on June, Stepping Into July 🌊

As we reach the exact midpoint of the year, take a deep breath and look back at how far you have come since January. June was all about grounding ourselves and transitioning into a new season. Now, as we welcome July, we enter a period of vibrant energy, longer days, and peak summer.

This month, our focus shifts to intentional rest and social connection. July is National Social Wellness Month, a perfect reminder that nurturing our relationships is a core pillar of mental health. Let’s use the weeks ahead to protect our boundaries, spend time in nature, and pour back into our own cups. Welcome to July—may it bring you warmth, clarity, and peace.

"Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love."
