EJMS Families,

I hope everyone had a good week as we kicked off the month of March. I wanted to share some encouraging attendance data from these last couple of weeks now that we have had some consistency in school. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to make school attendance a priority!

Date Range: Month 6: 1/17/25-2/17/25

Attendance Goal: 92.47% (month 6)

Attendance Percentage: 91.16%

Date Range: Month 7 so far: 2/18/25-3/6/25

Attendance Goal: 93.38% (month 7)

Attendance Percentage: 94.33%

Breakdown: 2/24/25-2/28/25: 95.06% ; 3/3/25-3/6/25: 94.24%

Insights Survey

This year, the district is replacing the Speakup survey with a new, shorter Technology survey to gather better data. The survey opened on Monday, March 3rd, and closes Friday, April 4th.

The purpose of this survey is to inform our Technology plans and Ed Tech initiatives across the district. By collecting feedback from various stakeholders, we can better understand how technology is perceived and used in our schools. This insight will enable us to provide better support for teachers and remove barriers for students, ultimately maximizing student learning through technology.

For all schools that meet 30% participation rate from parents, they will be entered to win additional funding for technology. Please help us meet this goal by taking a few minutes to complete this survey. Thank you!

ILP (Individual Learning Plan) Information for parents

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) mandates that all students in grades 6-12 complete their Individual Learning Plan (ILP) each year. Jessamine County Schools uses Major Clarity as the main platform used to achieve this goal. Each year, students are required to reach 100% completion for that school year’s ILP tasks. Major Clarity offers a wealth of information to help your student learn and explore information related to personality traits and learning styles as they may relate to future employment opportunities, along with details regarding career paths and occupations. Students this year have worked on their ILPs via Writing classes and Core Connections classes (based on their schedules). We encourage you to explore the attached information and ask your student to log into their Major Clarity account (via Clever) so they can show you what they have been working on this year. Feel free to reach out to your student’s grade level counselor for more information.

This year, we would like to invite all of our EJMS families to join us in the evening from 5:00 - 6:30 to see the student-created tables from the culture fair, to enjoy food from other cultures, and for some fun family events and activities.

You are welcome to bring food to share and/or favorite family recipes to put in our new EJMS Family Cookbook. Be on the lookout this week for an email with more information.
