Summit Road STEM Elementary
March 2026 SPARK Newsletter
March is a busy and exciting time at Summit Road STEM Elementary. As we head toward spring break, keeping strong daily attendance really matters. Every day of learning builds on the last, and being at school consistently helps students stay confident, connected, and successful. Classrooms are deep into STEM learning right now, with students launching and wrapping up problem based learning units that ask them to think critically, collaborate, and solve real world problems. You will also start hearing more about the Ohio State Tests, which will begin shortly after spring break for our tested grade levels. Our staff is focused on helping students feel prepared and supported, and the best way families can help is by prioritizing attendance, rest, and encouragement. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we move into this important stretch of the school year.
Muffins in the Morning with a Loved One!
We are excited to invite families to Muffins in the Morning with a Loved One, a special opportunity for students to share a morning treat with someone important to them. This event will take place over two days. On March 31st, students in Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade may invite one loved one to join them in the morning for a muffin. On April 2nd, students in third, fourth, and fifth grade may invite one loved one to do the same. We look forward to welcoming families into our school for this fun and meaningful start to the day. Please see the RSVP information below for your child’s date.
Correct Contact Information:
With the recent snow days, we have been reminded how important it is to be able to reach families quickly when school schedules change or emergencies arise. Please take a moment to check that your phone number and other contact information are current. If your phone number has changed, call the front office as soon as possible so we can update our records. Having accurate information helps us keep your child safe and ensures you receive important school communications right away. Thank you for your help and partnership.
How can you partner with us?
The Summit Road STEM Elementary PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is a group of parents, caregivers, and staff who work together to support our school through events, volunteer efforts, and fundraising. The PTO helps create fun experiences for students, supports teachers, and builds a strong school community. You don’t need a lot of time to help—there are many simple ways to get involved, like donating items, helping at events, or sharing ideas. Every bit of support makes a difference. Click the link below to learn more and see how you can partner with the PTO.

Communication from Summit Road STEM Elementary:
We are using TalkingPoints as our main communication method. Parent/Guardians will be automatically enrolled with your phone number and e-mail addresses on file in the office.
It is very important that your phone number is updated so you can stay up to date with information from the building! To begin, TalkingPoints will automatically allow us to communicate with text messages to your phone. If you wish, you can download the TalkingPoints Parent app to your phone. This allows you to do more advanced features such as react to messages, RSVP to events, and more. Downloading an app is optional.
Any changes in phone number, e-mail address, or other important information should be communicated to the front office as soon as you can.
Change of addresses are required by Ohio Law, and should be communicated with our welcome center. Maggie in the Summit front office can help with this process.
Teachers send home a weekly newsletter with photos, upcoming events, and current happenings. Please be sure you are checking your child's newsletter! If you are not receiving Talking Point messages, please call the office.
