Demopolis Middle School Roar Report
January
From Mrs. Jones
Happy 2025!
We’re thrilled to share some fabulous news—DMS scored an 85 on the state report card! This reflects a two-point improvement from our 2023 report card grade, and we couldn’t be prouder. Our goal is to continue building on this success and improve even further in 2025.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us provide a meaningful and valuable education for your children. Together, we’re making a difference!
As we embark on the second semester at DMS, we are excited about the opportunities ahead. Here are a few important reminders to help ensure a smooth and successful semester:
Yondr Pouch Reminder
Please ensure your student has his or her Yondr pouch. If a student turns in is or her phone to Mrs. Hilchey, she will contact you to inform you that your student is without a pouch. Replacement pouches are $30.
Note: Digital watches must also be placed inside the pouch.
Dress Code Guidelines
We experienced some repetitive dress code violations during the first semester and would greatly appreciate your support in helping us address these issues this semester:
- No sagging pants.
- No slippers or slides resembling slippers.
- Leggings must be paired with long shirts that extend below the waistline.
- Holes in pants above the knee are not permitted unless leggings are worn underneath.
- Shirts may not be tied to expose the back or abdomen.
Students will receive two warnings (the second will also contain a parent contact) before an office referral is issued for dress code violations.
Attendance
School begins promptly at 7:45 AM. Please ensure your student arrives on time each morning.
Our second celebration for the year will take place in a few weeks. Students who reached their iReady growth goal will attend a "Hot Chocolate for Hot Scores" party during 7th period.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education. Together, we can make this semester a success!
