Nederland Middle-Senior HS Community,

Today we had our first March Madness 3 on 3 tournament run by the Ned Student Council. With my Michigan State Spartans being knocked out of the NCAA tournaments last week, I jumped in and played on a team here today. It was a fun time had by all.

Have a great weekend,

Gavan

Musical Theater: Hadestown Musical Theater: Hadestown

Hadestown: Teen Edition written by Anais Mitchell is a beautiful and tragic story that follows Orpheus on a journey to the underworld to rescue his beloved Eurydice. We meet Hades and Persephone as they try to mend a strained and decaying relationship. We are introduced to The Fates who are ever present controllers of destiny, and the workers who represent the common man and are essential to the musical's themes of labor and rebellion. This tragic musical not only retells the Greek myth in a new and vibrant form, but it is a strong commentary on the state of our current world and what it means to make sacrifices and face adversity and to dream of a better world.
