IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
Tennis Shoes on PE Days
Wearing the right shoes on PE days is super important for all students! Tennis shoes, or athletic shoes, provide the support and comfort needed for running, jumping, and playing games. Here are a few reasons why having proper shoes for PE is essential:
Prevent Injuries: Tennis shoes have cushioning and support that help protect your feet and ankles. Wearing the right shoes can reduce the risk of injuries, such as sprains or blisters, while participating in activities.
Improve Performance: With the right shoes, you can move more easily and perform better during games and exercises. Good shoes can help you run faster, jump higher, and enjoy PE even more!
Stay Comfortable: Tennis shoes are designed for physical activity, so they keep your feet comfortable even during the most active games. This means you can focus on having fun and learning new skills without worrying about your feet.
Remember to wear your tennis shoes on PE days so you can be safe, active, and ready to have a great time!
Updating Contact Information
Before the first day of school, please make sure that you log into your parent portal to verify that all emergency contact information is accurate and up to date. This helps us know who is authorized to pick up your child and who to contact in case of an emergency. Directions for accessing Parent Portal are located below in the "How To" section.
School Funding Form - Help us get LOTS of $
Please also complete the school funding form in Parent Portal. This form is essential to ensure our school receives the necessary funds to purchase curriculum and supplies for all students.
Keeping this information current supports your child’s safety and helps our school provide the best learning environment possible. Thank you for your cooperation!
Student Sick? Here are the rules to return...
If your child has a fever, diarrhea, or vomiting, please keep them home until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to school. This helps prevent the spread of germs and keeps everyone healthier.
If your child is sent home sick from school, the following day will be marked as staff-verified, so there’s no need to call the office to report the absence. You can also conveniently report your child’s absence anytime by logging into your parent portal.
If you have any questions about this policy or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact the office at 916-979-8228. Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe and healthy!
Morning Drop off & Pick Up Procedure
TK & Kinder Families: You should always park and drop off and pick up your students directly from the classroom. The only exceptions to this are:
- Older siblings are picking up the TK/Kinder student and walking them out
- The TK/Kinder student is going to Bridges or other daycare program
1st - 5th Grade Families: You know your child and their needs best. You can decide to drop off/pick up in the following three ways:
- Drop off in the cul-de-sac. A crossing guard will cross your student from the cul-de-sac to the school. Please pull ALL THE WAY FORWARD so we can fit three cars along the curb.
- Drop off along the red curb. Your child should be able to exit the vehicle on their own without support, and all drivers must remain with their vehicle. Again, please pull ALL THE WAY FORWARD, and avoid stopping in the crosswalk area.
- Park and have your child walk on the sidewalk into the school using the crosswalk if necessary.
Parents on Campus Before & After School
Parents are welcome to walk in with their child and stay through breakfast or morning recess until the bell rings at 7:45. Your child's teacher will take it from there. No students or adults should be past the flagpole prior to 7:30, not even to drop off a backpack. No adults should be waiting after school past the flagpole. We will have a sign out to remind you. Thank you for your partnership on this!

HOW TO:
Reporting Student Absence
Reporting Student Absences Made Easy!
If your child is sick or unable to attend school, you can now report their absence online in just a few simple steps:
- Log into the Parent Portal.
- Tap the three lines (menu) at the top right.
- Click "Report Absence."
- Choose your student(s).
- Enter the reason for the absence.
- Click "Submit."
This helps our attendance clerk keep accurate records and makes it convenient if you have children at different schools, as you can select all of the students who will be out of school.
You can also call us at (916) 979-8228 and leave a message on the attendance line.
Thank you for your support!
See below for directions on how to log into your Parent Portal.
How do I get into Parent Portal?
- Please verify all phone numbers and addresses are correct. This is really important so you receive our communication and we can contact you if your child is ill or has an emergency.
- View your child's teacher. You can also find this out at the Meet the Teacher BBQ on Monday, August 11 or find out the first day of school!
- Fill out the school funding form. Even if you do not eat school breakfast or lunch, this funding really helps our school! Thank you!
