Principal's News
We kicked off our One Book One School Week today and couldn't be more excited! This year's book is "Be You!" by Peter Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds recorded a very special message for our Martinson students that we all viewed at our Friday Morning Meeting. "Be You!" is an inspiring and beautifully illustrated book that promotes essential values such as bravery, curiosity, and adventure. It teaches children to stay connected with others, be persistent in their efforts, and embrace their differences. The book also highlights the importance of kindness, patience, and the willingness to ask for help when needed. We will be focusing on all of these values throughout the year. You should be receiving one copy of this wonderful book for your family to read and enjoy.

Nurse's Notes
Nurse's News
Update Health Information: Please make sure to update any changes to your child’s health information, including allergies, medications, and emergency contact details. Thank you to all the parents who have already submitted their children’s physicals and immunization records! If you haven’t done so yet, please remember to submit them as soon as possible. Physicals are required for students in Kindergarten and Fourth Grade.
Healthy Habits for a Great Start:
Handwashing: Encourage frequent handwashing with soap and water, especially before meals and after using the restroom.
Healthy Snacks: Pack nutritious snacks that fuel your child’s body and mind, such as fruits, veggies, and whole grains.
Sleep: Make sure your child is getting enough sleep each night. Elementary-aged children typically need 9-11 hours of sleep.
When to Keep Your Child Home:
If your child had any of the following symptoms today, please keep them home
Fever over 100 degrees (must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of tylenol or motrin to return to school)
Vomiting and/or diarrhea (if your child has had any vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours, they should not return to school)
Diagnosis of communicable disease such as strep throat or conjunctivitis (if diagnosed with a communicable disease and prescribed antibiotics, your child must not return to school until they have been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours)
Please contact the nurse with any questions.

Liibrary News
This week in the library we read "Do Unto Otters: A Book About Manners" written by Laurie Keller. In this humorous story, a rabbit gets new neighbors who happen to be otters, and he is unsure how to act with them. This story helped enrich our discussions regarding behavioral expectations in the library.
