🎉CTE Appreciation Month🎉
Thank You, Ms. Everidge!
We're celebrating CTE Month by recognizing our favorite CTE teacher, Ms. Liz Everidge! She goes above and beyond each day to serve not only our PCSVA students, but students in several schools across the district. She teaches Public Safety 1 and 2, Career Management, and Emergency Management. She also serves as our EC teacher and teaches electives for our middle grades students. In addition to teaching the students of Person County, Ms. Everidge has been a dedicated 911 dispatcher- Telecommunicator III, for over 17 years with Davidson County and is a leader within our state emergency services. Most recently she was named a member of the 911 Chaplain Initiative increasing her impact.
We are blessed by her dedication and desire to serve! Cheers to you, Ms. Everidge!

To be eligible for Wolfpack Connect, students must have fewer than 30 transferable credits completed or in progress, be currently enrolled at PCC, and plan to pursue an eligible major or concentration at NC State.

PCS Attendance Initiative Every Minute Counts!
Every Minute Counts! Attendance matters now more than ever. Chronic absenteeism—missing 10% or more of the school year, regardless of the reason—puts students at academic and social risk. Research shows that even in early grades, frequent absences can make it hard to read on grade level, stay engaged, and ultimately graduate on time.
Our district, like many others nationwide, has seen an increase in chronic absences since the pandemic. As partners in education, we ask families to help us prioritize attendance by scheduling appointments outside of school hours, keeping routines consistent, and reaching out when challenges arise.
Together, we can ensure every child is present, supported, and ready to succeed—because every minute truly counts.

State Employees Credit Union $10,000 Scholarship
SECU Foundation established the People Helping People four-year scholarship program to help North Carolina public high school students attend college. SECU Foundation takes an active role in assisting communities across North Carolina and truly believes in “People Helping People.” Each of the 115 North Carolina Local Education Agencies (“LEAs”)/School Districts will receive a minimum of one scholarship for a senior to attend one of the 16 constituent campuses of the University of North Carolina System.
Although the SECU Foundation Scholarship program recognizes academic achievement, the People
Helping People Scholarship has a much broader purpose - recognizing leadership, integrity, and community involvement.
The SECU Foundation People Helping People Scholarship is only available to graduating public high
school seniors who are either current members of State Employees’ Credit Union (“SECU”) or the
child of a parent/guardian who is a member of SECU at the time of application. Membership eligibility does not include Local Government Federal Credit Union or NC Press Association Credit Union members. Preference will be given to students whose parents or guardians and family members are public sector employees (state, local or federal government; public health; public education) who live and work in North Carolina. Additionally, preference will be given to those majoring in public service degree programs (such as Public Health, Education, Public Administration, and Public Policy).
While not a requirement, identification of a financial need, as determined by submission of a Free
Application for Federal student Aid (FAFSA), will be taken into consideration by the selection
committee. Scholarship recipients in good academic standing will be able to receive the scholarship up to a maximum of eight (8) consecutive semesters at the same university.

School Calendars
2025-2026 Calendar (English)
2025-2026 Calendar (Spanish)
Piedmont Community College Calendar
We align with the traditional school calendar with PCS; the first day for students is Monday, August 18, 2025. PCSVA utilizes the Google Workspace platform where teachers will instruct using both Google Meet and Google Classroom. Students enrolled in grades 9-12 also participate in courses through NC Schools of Science and Math. Courses for students who are enrolled at PCC will begin on Monday, August 18, 2025. PCSVA courses are asynchronous on Wednesdays.
Our program is designed to focus on effectively providing a high-quality, virtual learning environment for all students and we ask that families commit to being enrolled for the entire school year. Student engagement is critical in the virtual learning environment; therefore, students will be expected to keep their cameras on during synchronous (live) instruction with their teachers and peers. Attendance will be taken based on this policy. There will also be opportunities daily for students to work asynchronously and having parent/family support is strongly encouraged.
While we are able to instruct our students virtually, all district and state-mandated assessments will need to be conducted in person onsite at our location. Assessment schedules and detailed instructions will be provided in advance of each district and state-mandated assessment for 6-12 students.
