The Tuesday Notice
February 10, 2026
Since before The Siskiyou School was even a formal school, we have been delivering songs of love to our community on Valentine's Day! And although getting 8th graders to sing love songs is challenging, each year they rise to the occasion and learn a bit about how much joy one song can bring. Today is the last day for ordering Singing Valentines (in-person or virtual), so see the link below and send a song to your sweetheart.

TONIGHT! Join us at 6:30 for an Enrichment Evening with Christine Benson and our middle school teachers to learn about how Waldorf education meets the needs of middle school child.
The middle school years are a crucial time for healthy development. Students thrive in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where they can grow into their best selves. At the Siskiyou School, we are committed to:
- Providing an education free from cell phones and social media.
- Encouraging students to become strong self-advocates who engage thoughtfully with peers and adults.
- Honoring growth through meaningful and exciting rites of passage.
Join us for a conversation with our teachers about how we protect childhood while equipping students with the skills and confidence they need for a bright, dynamic future! This evening is open to all grade levels with 5th grade parents are highly encouraged to participate. We encourage you to invite families with adolescents that do not yet attend The Siskiyou School!
Help support the 8th Grade with their fundraising for their end of the year trip, while at the same time warming the heart of a friend or a loved one. Forms are now available and orders will be available until Wednesday, February 11. The cost is $25 which includes a friend or loved one being serenaded to on Valentine’s Day and receiving a card and a bar of chocolate. This is an annual tradition for the 8th grade class and our community, and you can really make someone’s day!
Also available, online valentines! Send your out-of-town loved one a cheery greeting from the Forest class via email. The emailed valentine will include a music video of one of the students' favorite songs for a discounted price of $20! See the link below to order.
Grandparents' Day - February 20, 2026
We are so looking forward to hosting all the grandparents and grandfriends on Friday, February 20. Please have all RSVP's in as soon as possible!
This cherished event is such a sweet way to showcase your children and our school. We are planning on having a full house and are looking for volunteers to bring finger food items and to be onsite during the event handling traffic flow, logistics, photos and hospitality. Please reach out to Sarah Collins if you'd like to help!
As you all know, parking is limited. Please drop grandparents/friends off with your students in the morning, if you are able, so they don't have to park far from school and walk in.
Please note that we will be offering times for photos with grandparents/grandfriends and student throughout the day, but we do hope that grandparents will take the first moments on campus getting a photo. If you can help remind our older friends to get a photo first thing, that would be most helpful! Thank you!
Please reach out to our Sarah Collins, our Events & Fundraising Coordinator, with any questions or comments. sarah.collins@siskiyouschool.org or 541-482-8223 ext. 20
Hand Weights Still Wanted!
We're looking for some hand weights to use in our Running and Fitness block of middle school games class. If you have spare weights from 5 to 12 pounds that could use a new home, please consider donating them to the school! Thank you!

We may edit it for space purposes. Classifieds are included for two weeks, require a break for a week, and then can be renewed upon request.

Ashland and Rogue Valley Water Polo
Hello wonderful Ashland and Rogue Valley Water Polo people -
It’s coming up on time to jump back in the pool for the spring water polo season! We are still working out all the details, so this is just a save-the-date email to get it on your radar and on your calendars; more info and the official registration will be coming as we finalize plans. But we are starting earlier than we have in the past, so we want you all to be ready. :)
Season start: Monday, March 2
Schedule (subject to change):
-Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 4-6 pm at Daniel Meyer in Ashland
-Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6:30-8:30 at Rogue X in Medford
The first week will be a trial week, no commitment or payment or experience needed, and we encourage folks to bring their friends and check out how much fun it is. The team is open to boys and girls from 6th-12th grade. We are a no-cut team, and full and partial scholarships are available. The spring season is focused on building skills, with one or two possible away games (the fall is the competitive season, for high school players only).
Feel free to reply with questions, and pass along the invitation to anyone you know who might be interested!
