Reminders
Car Line - Be sure to follow the established traffic pattern while picking up or dropping off students. Pull as far forward as possible before loading or unloading students to make the process more efficient. DO NOT park in the lot to pick up or drop off without permission. This leads to safety concerns.
School Fees - Textbooks are free, but there are other associated fees for the school year. Please be sure to pay these ASAP.
Lunch Money - Can be turned into the office any morning. Please put it in an envelope with the student's name on the outside.
Volunteers Needed!!
The JMS 8th Grade DC Trip is in need of a Parent Volunteer or Volunteers. Since we began taking this trip in 2007, parents have handled fundraisers and other tasks to ensure the trip is a success. The excellent volunteers over the years have streamlined and organized these efforts so that it is manageable for one person and even easier for multiple people. Parents have typically taken the role for multiple years as their children moved through JMS. We are at a time of transition where our current volunteer's children will be done at JMS at the end of the year and we will need someone (or a few people) to take over. The current volunteer would work with anyone interested this year to train them to take over next year. Please consider stepping up and helping in this role! Contact David Hubster for more details.
Dubois County Health Department
Will be hosting an HPV Clinic at JMS on Sept. 18. Click on the links below to register. Required vaccinations are also listed below.

The Social Institute
You recently received an email explaining our new partnership with the Social Institute. It contained information about the partnership as well as directions on how to register. This program comes with many resources that JMS will be sharing with families. Here is information regarding one of those resources:
Dear Families,
The Social Institute Playbooks equip students to #WinAtSocial by explaining how to use platforms for good — in language that relates to both adults and teens. All content within each Playbook is inspired by The Social Institute's conversations with students across the country and TSI's daily research on the latest tech trends and updates. Save time by skimming the latest and greatest tech updates, positive examples, and privacy tips – all in one place!
Our school believes that the Apple Devices playbook is relevant to your student(s) and family. Please take a moment to review this content in either English or Spanish, so that we can work together to help students make high-character decisions while using their apps and devices.
If you have not yet registered for the Social Toolkit, please go here and use our code (4be2A342C3C78D) to get started!

SWICACC Kickback 2025
SWICACC to host sixth annual SWICACC Kickback Fundraiser

Let’s band together because every child deserves a voice.
Southwestern Indiana Child Advocacy Centre Coalition—known as SWICACC—is hosting their sixth annual SWICACC Kickback, Band Together Against Child Abuse, at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, September 19th, at the Jasper River Centre.
The free, all ages music festival brings together four local bands— Jon & Stacey, Legends, Studebaker & Friends, and Akacia— for live performances to benefit your local child advocacy center. Food and drinks will be available from local businesses in the River Centre.
Child advocacy centers are central to the safety of children and communities. Trained staff perform specialized evidence gathering interviews that are used to charge and convict perpetrators of child abuse. CACs also advocate for survivors of child abuse and their families by providing trauma informed services in environments focused on support, safety, and hope.
SWICACC covers Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Martin, Orange, Perry, Spencer and surrounding counties.
We are looking for sponsors: if you or an organization you know would like to help support this meaningful event, please reach out.
The annual SWICACC Kickback fundraiser is SWICACC’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Enjoy a night of local music while making a real impact.
