Save the Date: Parents Teacher Conferences- Monday, February 24th
Parent-Teacher Conferences offer us a great opportunity to engage in important dialog about the progress of our students. The NHS Staff will host parent-teacher conferences from 3:30 -7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 24th. I have included a few things to think about in preparation for a successful conference with your child's teachers. Please take the time to preview Skyward grades and chat with your child to determine which teachers you'd like to conference with in a couple of weeks.
Date: Monday, February 24
Place: Upper and Lower Cafeterias unless otherwise specified.
Time: 3:30-7:30 pm.
Report Cards: Parents should access students schedules and grades on Skyward.
Conference Structure: Limit your conferences to approximately 5 minutes.
Traditional Parent Teacher Conferences will be CAFETERIA-STYLE DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS. Please plan for on/about 5 minutes. Individual conferences may be requested by teacher or parent/caregiver throughout the school year per the 4 hour reallocation from family engagement. Tables are set up with each teacher’s name posted and arranged in alphabetical order. A diagram will be shared prior to the night of conferences.
Principal Update
Dear NHS Staff, Students and Families,
Planning for the 2025-26 school year has officially begun. Students in grades 9-11 participated in the registration process this week during Raider Time. Make sure your child logs into Skyward to show you their course requests. Our final group to register is the new incoming class of 2029. We are excited to welcome the parents and students of the Class of 2029 on Monday evening, February 10th. More than 20 students from NHS Link Crew will attend to support planned activities.
Credit Pathways:
NHS has developed a visual graphic to help explain the various credit pathways students can choose on their high school journey. It is important that students complete a full NHS schedule of requests for the 2025-26 school regardless of other possible pathways. This is due to the fact that you can control timelines, course availability and other factors that may impact eligibility to take online, PSEO and/or Honors Programs. Our counselors plan to offer session to learn more about this on the night of Parent-Teacher Conferences on February 24th. More details will be shared soon. In the meantime, check out the credit pathways at NHS by clicking here.

Trout Classroom Project
The Trout are growing with each passing day! Managing the water quality is the key to preserving a high survival rate.
Craig Johnson, Biology Teacher, has participated in the Classroom Trout Program for many years. This year, he is collaborating with TJ Austin, Fish, Wildlife and Forestry Teacher. They each have the equipment in their respective classrooms to support the project. Interested students in each classroom will help support this journey. If you have questions, email Craig Johnson at cjohnson@northfieldschools.org or TJ Austin at taustin@northfieldschools.org.
