CELC Weekly Updates

Happy Sunday CELC families! The rain has arrived! I hope you enjoyed the wet weekend. My dog was not a fan of the thunder! The weather forecast predicts the highs to be from 55-63 degrees all week. Please make sure that your child dresses accordingly. The staff is looking forward to our eighth full week of hybrid learning. Please review the updates and reminders below to help keep you informed about what is happening on campus and in the district:

  • Mark your calendars- Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up the week of November 16th. Teachers have posted sign up sheets for days/times. Please make sure you have reserved your conference. Don't forget that students will be getting out of school at an earlier time than usual. See the schedule below.
  • Please note that there is no school on Wednesday, November 11th in observance of Veterans' Day. All programs and offices will be closed.
  • Dr. Newman will be proposing a Phase III start date to the AUSD School Board at the November 10th meeting.
  • Thank you for your continued support with following our protocols while on campus: respecting the drop off/pick up times, wearing a mask, not sitting at the lunch tables, and leaving campus promptly.
  • If you are interested in purchasing something from the CELC Wish List, please visit https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3SFKL6ROWON5R?ref_=wl_share.
  • A huge thanks to the anonymous donor that shipped eight 10 x 10 shade structures to our site. We are so grateful for your generosity!
  • Child Nutrition Services began offering snack pick up for students at CELC during pick up times. Hybrid A parents picked up snacks on Monday, and Hybrid B parents picked up snacks on Thursday. The grab and go snack bags contained 5 days worth of snacks. This will continue to be available to all students 18 and under. See flyer below for more information.
  • Please report all absences to the office. We are required to trace all absences. Illnesses may require a 10-14 day stay at home. All students that are out for any reason will be temporarily assigned to distance learning. They can receive credit for their time off campus if they complete work online.
  • This week is Grey Week. Kindergarteners will be doing themed activities around the color grey.
  • Every Monday is College Spirit Day. Wear your favorite college shirt!
  • Join us for VIRTUAL FUN FRIDAYS. This Friday, November 13, is "Lucky Friday the 13th Day". Nothing can ruin our luck, not even Friday the 13th! Wear your favorite wacky/lucky socks. Share a picture on social media using #virtualfunfriday, #makeminealpine, and/or #alpinestrong
  • The district continues to serve food during Hybrid Learning on Mondays from 11:00am to 12:00pm at JMMS. This week, there will also be a pick up from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.
  • The district is still providing free wifi access at CELC, SHES, JMMS, and BOES. Just park in the lot and log in. The wifi name is AlpineUnited and no password is needed.
  • The district has tech support available to parents. Please email helpdesk@alpineschools.net with your technology questions.
  • EAK registration is now open! Spread the word! EAK starts January 4.

We are looking forward to fun and productive week. I need to search my sock inventory to select the best pair to wear on Friday! Don’t forget to wear college gear tomorrow! I am looking for some new pictures of families and staff in their favorite college shirt.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Ripke

Parent/Teacher Conference Week Schedule

Mark your calendars! Parent conference week is coming soon. All start times and gates for entry/exit remain the same. Please make note of the earlier pick up times during conference week (November 16-20). As always, for everyone’s safety, please do not enter the campus early. As a reminder, families must practice social distancing and wear masks. Please drop off/pick up quickly and leave campus. We have had to remind a few adults multiple times to stay off the lunch tables. We apologize for our constant reminders but PLEASE follow the rules for the safety of our campus, so we can remain open and allow parents to help with drop off and pick up. Thank you to the mass majority who are supporting our policies and procedures. As a reminder, please let your emergency contacts know the procedures if you are utilizing them to pick up your student. Thank you for your support. It will become even more important when we begin Phase III of our reopening plan.
