Peterson's Message- K3 Director
Greetings MCP3 Team!
Last week was a success as we celebrated The Week of the Young Child! Thank you for your hard work and participation in making this a special and fun week for all. The best times the team shared out from the week included the Paint & Sip, the Fruit/Cheese Tasting, Yoga, and the Read-In. The feedback about what didn't go as great was also helpful and we will NOT be doing fingerprints on shirts, we will have beans for paper plate shakers as well as a funnel for the rice, and will consider alternatives to berries since they were pretty messy. Shout out to Ms. Harrell for helping to paint the class of 2040 Leave your Mark Tribute on the wall- it looks fantastic!
Thank you all for your engagement during Friday's PD. Here is the Slide Deck for reference as needed. Let's ensure we are all living into our team commitments we developed during The Culture we Create session. They are listed below. It is OUR responsibility to ensure we are establishing and maintaining a positive environment for all stakeholders and recognize that our actions, words, and professional choices have an immediate impact on others as well as a "ripple effect."
1. We agree to give each other grace and assume the best.
2. We agree to build those loving relationships every day..(smiling, greeting, communication)
3. We agree to proactive communication.
4. We agree to maintain positive relationships...public praise, private problem-solving
Here are some important happenings and reminders:
Licensing Rules for Reminders
- Chemicals locked/out of reach of children at all times
- tables/chairs wiped & floor swept after every meal (breakfast, snack, lunch, and afternoon snack)
- drinking water from a drinking source- use the blue water jugs (not the sink faucet)
Positive Descriptive Feedback
Routine PDF is an expectation at MCP3. PDF refers to a teacher providing positive feedback to a child using words that describe the behavior for which the child is being acknowledged. "Good Job!" is not an example of PDF. "Thank you for sitting in your chair with your feet on the floor!" is an example of PDF. Let's be sure we are maintaining a 3:1 ratio or PDF to each redirection/correction we give.
New Parent Orientation
We will be having New Parent Orientation on the following dates/times in April:
4/27 @ 4:00-5;00
4/28 @ 8:00-9:00
We want to ensure to leave a welcoming and positive first impression on our new families. Let's make sure our spaces are free of clutter and neatly organized. Let's make sure we are continuing to show up with excellence by following/referencing the schedule, using PDF, and having intentionally planned lessons in our classroom. Let's make sure we are consistently engaged with scholars.
People who Love us Event- 5/15/26 4:30-6:30pm
MCP3 is planning it's 2nd Family Night event for the school year. This will be our "People who Love us" event and is how we celebrate all those we love and love us instead of putting on a Spring program. If you are interested in volunteering please let me know by filling out this form. If we don't have enough volunteers, we will need to come up with a special way to celebrate during the day- please fill out the form if you can't make it, but provide suggestions for how to celebrate.
