NFL Draft with a Touch of Blue Devil Influence
Blue Devil athletic excellence was on display at the recent NFL Draft in Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh Steelers invited representatives from every western Pennsylvania school that has had players drafted into the NFL. Senior Colton County and assistant football coach Ralph Vigliotti represented Burgettstown, and the school received its commemorative football, which will be placed in our trophy case, and lists:
Pat West-1945
Joe Tepsic-1946
John Barish-1955
Hal McEhlaney-1957
Mickey Trimarki-1958
Ron Maltony-1960
Students Recognized for Peer Jury Leadership
Burgettstown's student-leaders who serve on Peer Jury were recognized at a reception at Range Resources headquarters in Southpointe this week, followed by a trip to Sarris Candy and Ice Cream shop for a sweet treat. This year's peer jury included Madison Pavlik, Maleena Henry, Marlee Martin, Jaiden Palm, Kaden Pugh, Sadie Bilal, and Gabriel Casagranda.

Junior High Track at Quaker Valley
If the junior high track team's performance at the recent multi-team meet at Quaker Valley is any indication, the future of the Burgettstown Track program is bright! While the weather was less than perfect, our athletes showed up ready to compete and had a great outing. We can't wait to see these student-athletes at the varsity level!
Dress Like a Teacher Day
Imitation is the purest form of flattery, and it is clear that Mr. Ralph Vigliotti, Mr. Druga, and Mr. Roth are beloved!
In Mrs. Lucas' Classroom
Mrs. Betschart Recognized by PMEA
BAEC's own Mrs. Betschart was recently recognized by the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) for 25 years of contribution to music education. Mrs. Betschart also serves the PDE Arts Standards Committee; a group responsible for updating the art education standards, thereby influencing the manner in which the fine arts are taught in Pennsylvania's public schools for years to come.
BAEC Students Share the Love
It was unusually quiet at the elementary center on Thursday aftrnoon, and Mrs. Mankey had a feeling something wasnโt quite right. Unbeknownst to her, a special surprise was in the works. While meeting with Mrs. Ferencuha, her walkie-talkie suddenly crackled with a call to report to the cafeteria. As she arrived, she was met with cheers, smiles, and heartfelt appreciation as students celebrated her in honor of National School Principalsโ Day.

Electronic Ticketing for Burgettstown Athletics!
This year, the Burgettstown Athletic Department is introducing digital ticketing for regular season football, volleyball, girls and boys basketball, and wrestling. Though all fans may still purchase a ticket "at the gate," but those who wish to avoid lines and pre-purchase an electronic ticket may do so by accessing the digital ticketing feature on the Hudl Fan page. Single game regular season tickets for both students and adults are available. Also, for those who know that will likely attend all games in a particular season, a season pass can be purchased. Please note: there is a processing fee, per ticket. This fee does not go to the school district, it is a vendor fee in support of the electronic ticketing feature. Scan the QR code or the button below to access the Hudl Fan page.

A Note about Commencement for the Class of 2026
Our school community has embraced the uniqueness of conducting commencement exercises at Star Lake for decades. The various management groups throughout the years have supported this by donating the use of the facility and we are most appreciative. While it is early in the school year, we want to make note that in order to hold graduation at Star Lake, flexibility in planning is necessary. Believe it or not, the planning for the next year begins shortly after the school year ends. We notify Star Lake management of our desired date and it is recorded as a preferred date. There are no guarantees, and in the past several years, we have not been able to finalize the date until some point in April. We know this causes a bit of anxiousness on the part of our seniors and their families, but if we want to continue this fine tradition, we must remain flexible. After last year's Commencement, we informed the management at Star Lake that our preferred date for this year's Commencement is June 5, 2026. While this is our preferred date, there is no guarantee that we will get it. As the months go by this year, the District will remain in contact with Star Lake management. When we know the confirmed date, we will communicate it to our students and families. Though graduation may be the last thing on anyone's mind this early in the school year, we wanted to communicate this information so there are no misunderstandings.
IT IS ILLEGAL TO ENTER A SCHOOL BUS WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION
