A Note from Mrs. Solomon and Mrs. Salto
We want to send a big thank you to our PTO volunteers for all of their work with ASE, Book Fair and Bingo. Events like this couldn't happen without all of our volunteers and we really appreciate all of the time that they commit to making this happen for our students and families. Thank you to our staff for bingo calling and our Student Council and Kindness Club for their bake sale and fundraising for the Northern Illinois Food Bank!
IAR Assessment begins next week for grades 3, 4 & 5. Please read the section below of how lunch times have shifted. Our specials (STEM, PE, ART and MUSIC) have shifted as well to accommodate our assessment schedule.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend, stay warm, dry and stationary with the wind!!

Due to the different time guidelines of the assessment times we have needed to shift our schedule for next week's ELA Assessment March 16-20 and we will follow this schedule again after spring break for the Math Assessment April 6-10.
Students will attend specials at different times than usual and their lunch times have been changed to the schedule below:
- 4th/5th grade Lunch 11:15am-11:35am and Recess 11:35am-11:55am
- 1st/2nd Lunch 11:45am-12:05pm and Recess 12:05pm-12:25pm
- k/3rd Lunch 12:25-12:45 pm and Recess 12:45pm-1:05pm (no change)
Ways you can support at home to help our students do their BEST:
- Positive encouragement and perseverance
- Come to school on-time
- Chrome books charged and ready to use
- Working plug-in head phones
- Good night's rest
- Healthy breakfast
Our students always work to be their Wild Rose Best! We are hoping you can help support them at home!

5th Grade Families Who Will Be Attending Wredling Middle School This Fall
A message from Wredling!
It’s time to order WMS (Clap out) tour shirts for your 5th-grade student!
This year, in addition to the tour shirt, we are also offering spirit wear for those interested. While purchasing the tour/ clapout shirt is optional, most students choose to wear them when they tour WMS in May. This year, we are using a company for all of our spirit wear purchases. When ordering through this company, all orders will be delivered to the address provided upon purchase.
Timelines:
1. The store is open at the link below (Please note that it can take 7-10 business days to get items delivered through this company, so plan accordingly)
2. Double-check sizing for your child before purchasing.
3. Parents can always reach out to our customer service department at customersupport@1stplacespiritwear.com or amanda@1stplacespiritwear.com.
4. WMS link for tour shirts: SHOP ALL The Tour shirt has the school year 2029. The shirt is pictured above.

AT Identification
Parents will be notified by email by Monday, March 9, if their student has been identified for AT math, Accelerated math (6th grade only), or AT ELA. Families have the opportunity to appeal their child’s placement decision. Families can appeal for AT/Accelerated/Infinity placement by completing this form by May 1, 2026. Recommending a student for further review will not guarantee their placement, but it will prompt a comprehensive review that may/may not include classroom performance reviews and additional testing. More Information about AT pathways is available on the D303 website. Please contact tina.king@d303.org with additional questions.

ATTENDANCE POLICY UPDATES
D303 Attendance Procedures Update
District 303 attendance procedures were updated and approved at the June 9, 2025, Board Meeting. All district procedures are available in the CUSD 303 Student Handbook found in the Parent/Community tab in the Information column of the districtd303.org website.
Updates to the attendance procedures were made to bring consistency across all schools within the district and to clarify student attendance expectations. One example of an update is the removal of the pre-arranged absence procedure. This aligns with the definitions of excused and unexcused absences found in Section 2.2.
NEW VACATION POLICY:
The pre-arranged absence form and procedure are no longer in use
Vacations during school days are discouraged and will be considered unexcused absences
This change aligns with our commitment to maximizing instructional time for all students
We recognize that families sometimes need flexibility for travel or special circumstances. While we strongly encourage scheduling family trips during school breaks and holidays, we understand that this isn't always possible. We ask for your partnership in minimizing absences during the school year whenever feasible.
Families are encouraged to review the CUSD 303 Student Handbook to familiarize themselves with the districtwide procedures.
