LMES Family Newsletter
Lake Mills Elementary School-November 2025
As we step into November, our school community is focusing on gratitude — taking time to notice and appreciate the good around us. Students will be learning about ways to show thankfulness through their words and actions, both at school and at home.
We also want to take a moment to express our own gratitude to you. Thank you for attending parent-teacher conferences and for the strong partnership you share with us in your child’s education. Your support, communication, and involvement make a true difference every day in helping our students learn and grow.
We are thankful for our LMES families and all you do to make this a wonderful place to learn!
With appreciation,
Wendy & Brad

Exciting News: Construction Has Begun!
We are thrilled to share that construction is officially underway on our new Early Learning Wing! This addition will provide beautiful new learning spaces for our youngest learners and enhance our school community for years to come.
We celebrated this milestone with a groundbreaking ceremony on October 17th, and construction began the following week. Thank you for your patience and flexibility with the temporary changes in traffic patterns during this time.
The new wing is scheduled to be ready for the start of the 2026–2027 school year—we can’t wait to see it come to life!
Safety at Drop Off and Pick Up
Thank you for your patience and cooperation with the new traffic patterns during our construction project. As a reminder, drop-off and pick-up now take place through the parking lot.
Please note that there is no parking area available to walk up and pick up your child at this time. If you have a special circumstance, please contact the school office, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep everyone safe and traffic flowing smoothly during this exciting phase of growth.
Attendance Reminder
The state of Wisconsin allows 10 parent excused days per school year. Any days missed after the 10 day limit is met, are considered unexcused without a doctor's note. Please keep this in mind when planning vacations and other days off of school. It is also important to get a note every time your child goes to a doctor's appointment. Those days are considered "medically verified" and do not count towards your child's attendance. Please reach out to Nicole Kelly in the LMES office with any questions regarding attendance or truancy.
Counselor Corner
Hello families! As we step into the month of November, it’s a wonderful time to help our children focus on gratitude. Practicing gratitude helps students build a positive mindset, strengthen relationships, and appreciate the little things in life. At school, we’ll be encouraging students to notice and express thanks for the people, experiences, and moments that bring them joy. Whether it's saying “thank you” to a friend, writing a note to a family member, or simply recognizing something good in their day, these small acts can have a big impact on their emotional well-being. We invite you to join us in making gratitude a daily habit this month—let’s grow thankful hearts together!
