Student Arrival 8:25-8:40: Kindergarten-5th grade students can begin arriving at 8:25. Students should gather in the front of the building. Doors open at 8:30. School starts at 8:40.

District 13 will temporarily disable student login access on Friday, August 21, 2026. Students will not be able to log into their Chromebooks or access any SD13 systems that require a Google login, even from a personal device. Access will be restored on September 2, 2026. This work helps ensure that all accounts are configured properly and are secure when students return to school. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we complete this necessary work to support a smooth and successful start to the new academic year.

Important - The Erickson Campus will be closed over the summer for construction/renovation

With the planned summer renovations, Erickson will not reopen until September 4th.

What this means for students and parents:

• Erickson Main Office staff will be available by appointment at the temporary District Office located at 255 E. Lake Street, Bloomingdale during the summer months.

• Friday, August 21, 2026: Student Chromebook Log-In access temporarily disabled to make updates. Students won't gain access again until the first day of school.

For the 2026-2027 school year, the district will transition from monthly Early Release days to weekly Early Release days.

• Weekly Early Release Days on Wednesday: All Preschool - Fifth Grade students will be released at 3:00 PM every Wednesday.

Due to construction, Erickson will not have an In-Person Information Day like previous years. All information related to Information Day, including classroom teacher names, bus routes, and PTO information will be posted in ALMA or shared via email. We will share more about Information Day as we get closer to the event in September.

Erickson Elementary School will be hosting a Meet the Teacher/Supply Drop-Off event on Wednesday, September 9th, from 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm for Preschool - 5th grade students. This is an opportunity for you and your child(ren) to come to Erickson before school begins to 1) say hello to the teacher and 2) drop-off classroom supplies. We ask that parents or another adult accompany students to Meet the Teacher/Supply Drop-Off.

Any student residing 1.5 miles or more from school is entitled to bus service. If you rode the bus last school year or are new to Erickson, we will be sure to route your child again this school year. If you are entitled to bus service but WILL NOT RIDE THE BUS, please fill out this Google Form to Decline Bus Transportation so that your child(ren) is/are not routed on the bus.

First Student Bus Company does have a bus app for families. Information about the bus app will be shared in a future Erickson Express.

NEW students in grades 1-5 and their families are invited to Springfield Park on Wednesday, September 2nd at 3:00-4:00. NEW 1st-5th Grade Students will meet with a 5th Grade Student Ambassador and parents are invited to stay and meet with the principal to learn more about Erickson and answer any questions. A special invite and sign-up will be sent to NEW families in August.

Student Summer Challenges

There will be four summer challenges for students in grades 1-5 for the 2026-2027 school year to complete at home. Flyers for these challenges are being sent home today. Below are electronic copies.

• Math Fact Challenge - 5 minutes of daily practice can keep students' math fact fluency sharp and ready for the next grade level.
