Raffle Tickets came home Monday!!!
We sent home raffle tickets on Monday 4/7 for a raffle that benefits our Brickies from the Start program. We would love if everyone was able to participate and sell the 12 tickets sent home with them. However, if you are not able to participate- please just leave the envelope in your child's folder and stick a little note on it that says "Not Participating" so we know to take them out of their folders.
If you are participating, once your tickets are sold send the payment and stubs back in the envelope that is provided. If you want to join the 24 club, please let your child's teacher know that you would like to get 12 more tickets.
All stubs and money will be due back by 4/25/25. Thanks in advance for your participation!!
NO SCHOOL NEXT FRIDAY 4/18!
Bubble Day fun!!!
The Week of the Young Child® is a time to recognize that children's opportunities are our responsibilities, and to recommit ourselves to ensuring that each and every child experiences the type of early environment—at home, at child care, at school, and in the community—that will promote their early learning.
Dr. Buffington and Mayor Huddleston were on hand to help Mrs. Gutierrez and The Early Learning Center staff and students kick off The Week of the Young Student with their annual Bubble Bonanza! The weather was less than perfect this week, so we celebrated by blowing bubbles in our classrooms!
GRADUATION PICS next Tuesday!!!!
Order forms are coming home in their folders today! Pictures are on Tuesday!!
Thank you to everyone that shopped the Spring Book Fair!
Thank you to everyone who shopped the Book Fair. We so appreciate your support. Shopping the fair helps to get books back in to the hands of all the kiddos here at The ELC... so we SO appreciate your purchases!!!
NEXT Wednesday 4/16! Please join us at HHS!!!!!
Kinders learning to code!!!!
This week, the kids were introduced to our coding mice! We started very simple and were introduced to the concept of coding and got some hands on time with the mice to see if we thought what we were telling it to do with the buttons is what happened when we hit go. We are going to build on this and spend the next few weeks in both library and STEM working on becoming coding masters and will eventually be able to tell Colby the mouse how to get from the start of the maze to the end. Not only will the mice travel through mazes we make through programming and sequencing, the mice also light-up and make sounds. Ms. Fraze started the lesson in library this week with reading If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, which introduced them to the if/then thought process. If one thing happens, then another thing happens, and so on and so forth. Moms and Dads, we sure hope you can join us at the Makers Fair on Wednesday, April 16th, at the High School to see what we have learned to do! We can't wait to show you! There will be kiddos aged Kindergarten-12th grade showing off all their talents as well. There will be SO MANY COOL things to see, so please pencil in the date to join us at the Hobart High School Fieldhouse anywhere between 6 & 8pm on Wednesday, 4/16, to check it all out!
