Monday Message from Mr. Gaines

Falcon Family,

We are almost at the half way mark of the first nine weeks grading period. Interim Reports will be issued on Wednesday, September 1st. If you are in need of your credentials for Parent Portal, please email Mrs. Young-Ross (sophia.ross@fsd1.org) or Ms. Amanda Richardson (arichardson@fsd1.org). Parent Portal is an excellent resource to use to stay abreast of your child's grades and attendance.

We are in the final stages of preparing our webpage for online athletic ticket purchases. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, August 31st for our first home Volleyball game against Spaulding Middle School at 5:30 p.m. in the gym!

Southside Middle School

Students in Mrs. Summerford-Nesmith's Leadership class ventured outside last week for a team building activity. They quickly discovered it takes everyone working together to accomplish the goal.

At its August 19th meeting, the Florence 1 Board of Trustees voted unanimously to implement a mask mandate for the next 60 days. Masks are required for all staff, students, and visitors inside all Florence 1 Schools facilities and buses. Thank you for your assistance with this mandate.

Southside Middle School has two full-time school nurses on staff to serve our students and staff. The Health Office is located at the end of the 100 Hall.
