PLOTTING A COURSE TOWARD OPENING DAY!

The sun is coming out and the grass is turning green. You can feel it in the air. The start of the new golf season is less than a week away! Time to clean out the grooves and polish the shoes. Time to tee it high and let it fly. Stretch out your back and give it a wh ... and I think you get my point.

We welcome back the snowbirds from the South but hope they didn't raise their handicaps too much. The rest of us may need a few rounds to get back into the groove. Might need a few swings to knock off some of the rust. Might need a few holes under the belt to ... you get the idea.

Not only do we have Opening Day this weekend, but the men's GAP team matches are right around the corner, beginning on Masters Sunday. To add to the much-anticipated start of the season, your Tournament Committee has decided to offer a putting championship and Masters pool. Be on the lookout for more information and signups! Throw in a Srixon demo day and April should bring a lot of golf excitement ... if you catch my drift.

And finally, to the man in the pic. This is what happens when you wear a hat like that to Augusta! Some folks just don't get it...

Cheers,

Jason

Regarding the Closure of Hole #4

With the closure of hole #4, it has been decided that we will follow the USGA recommendation of marking the "expected score" which is represented as "par plus any handicap strokes a player is entitled to." In other words, we mark a NET PAR for hole #4. When playing a format that requires a rotation of counted scores (example 3/30 member match), hole #4 will still count in the format unless determined ahead of time by the Tournament Committee. As an example from the 3/30 match, we would've still counted all four net pars on #4 instead of counting four scores on #5.

For GAP team matches. We will play a hole twice (tbd) to make the 18 hole match.

Please reach out with any questions. Thank you for your understanding!

Still PA's Friendliest Golf Course!

Part of that well-earned title means recognizing and helping those in need. You should have received a recent email detailing two opportunities to give back to the local community. Gifting Easter baskets to kids aged 4 to 12 and helping HBGC compete in the March Madness fundraiser (which Donna really, really, really wants to win again) are two great ways to benefit the Honey Brook Food Pantry. Let's continue to show why Honeybrook truly is the friendliest golf course in PA!

Official Srixon Masters Tournament Bag

Honeybrook is extremely fortunate to come across this limited-edition Masters staff bag! The Srixon rep who donated it to us is from Garden Spot and thought very highly of his time at HBGC. Instead of selling it outright, we've decided to offer it up to one lucky individual. Therefore, raffle tickets will go on sale for $20 each at the front desk beginning April 7th. The winner of the bag will be chosen at the conclusion of the Masters on April 13th. Good luck!

Congratulations to John Kennedy and John O'Connell for taking the first organized event of the year! Representing the Irish well, "JK" and "Johnny O" had the rest of the field GREEN with envy posting a 7-under 63 to win by 2 strokes over Dave Hannum and Barbora Millichip. It is only fitting that the tournament's creator be the first one to lift the new St. Patrick's Day trophy!

Well played, John and John!
