Dear Long Lake Families,

The Long Lake Spring Fling is always such an excellent way to start wrapping up the end of the school year! Our Community shines through this event and this year was no different. Thank you to everyone who joined! We're also grateful for our volunteers who helped make this event possible! The weather turned out for us too, which is a bonus!

We are incredibly thankful to the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City who made a visit to Long Lake Elementary last Friday! A few students were able show off their Coast Guard family members and we all learned about their work! The day couldn’t have been more perfect! As one of our students said, “This is the third best day of my life!” That says a lot!

With just three and a half weeks left of the year, we are looking forward to our All School Field Trip on May 28th and School Picnic on June 4th! We're hoping the weather also cooperates for both of these events!

We also have our End of the Year House Assembly on Friday, May 22nd at 9:30! Join us as we reveal the House Champs for Second Semester!

Let's make it a fantastic week!

Kate

All School Field Trip May 28th

We will be visiting Boardman River Nature Center this year on May 28th. The center has organized and specific field lessons to match each grade level content standards. Please see the permission slip and chaperone information. If you are planning to join us, a TCAPS volunteer clearance is REQUIRED. You can complete that here Volunteer Application Form Chaperones that have been cleared through the TCAPS volunteer process will receive a copy of the map and itinerary by your child’s classroom teacher so you know where to park. Each group will be parking and working different areas of the center. Also, if you have multiple children in our building, please pick one class to join.

Unfortunately, parents can’t decide last minute to join the trip. All adults joining must have clearance. Please contact your child’s teacher if you are interested in chaperoning. For the safety and success of the field trip experience, younger siblings are not permitted to attend the trip with parents. Their presence can create distractions and may pose safety concerns during certain activities on the itinerary. Our highest priority is safety for all. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us provide a focused and secure experience for all students.
