Heart, Grit, and Pride: Wolfe City Cheer Competes Strong at State
The Wolfe City High School cheerleaders have earned statewide recognition after competing at the UIL Spirit State Championships, placing 14th out of 44 teams in the highly competitive 2A Division I category.
The team’s journey to state was marked by determination, resilience, and unwavering commitment. Throughout the season, the cheerleaders faced significant challenges, including injuries, illness, and physical exhaustion. Despite these obstacles, they continued to push forward, supporting one another and representing Wolfe City with pride.
Their performance at the state level reflects months of preparation, teamwork, and heart. Competing against some of the best teams in Texas, the Lady Wolves demonstrated grit and unity on one of the biggest stages in high school spirit competition.
The success of the program is also credited to the strong support system behind the team. Families, friends, coaches, and district administration played an essential role in encouraging and advocating for the athletes throughout their season.
The Wolfe City community celebrates this accomplishment and the example these student-athletes have set through their perseverance, sportsmanship, and school pride. Their 14th-place finish at the UIL Spirit State Championships is a testament to their hard work and dedication — and a moment the district will proudly remember.
Congratulations Lyric on 1000 Points

WCISD is grateful for Jamie’s dedication and the countless ways she goes the extra mile each and every day to make a positive difference in the lives of students.
Academics
WCHS classes are on a roll, learning more every single day as we engage with academic content. Teachers have been busy working together to go through data to make sure that students are on track for success on tests and most importantly prepared for their future! Inspired by teachers such as Mrs. Zeller in Biology for hands-on, student led learning in labs such as the ones over genetics.
