WELCOME THE NEWEST MEMBER TO THE TUSTIN CONNECT FAMILY.

We are super excited to welcome Ashlee Romberger to our TC family. Ashlee's got a wonderfully diverse background and after many travels she has returned home to Orange County where we couldn't be more excited to bring her on. Please see below for a welcome message from Ashlee/Mrs. Romberger.

My name is Mrs. Romberger and I am excited to teach History and Spanish at Tustin Connect High School. For the past three years, I've been teaching History and Spanish at a public high school on a Native American Reservation in Northern California.

A little about me. I grew up in Brea in Orange County. I went to the University of Redlands for my Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Single Subject Teaching Credential. I earned my Master’s degree in Human Rights from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. From there I have lived in Peru, Ethiopia, and Washington, D.C. When I am not teaching, I enjoy trying new food, going to the beach, and traveling with my husband. I also love following current events, running, and listening to audiobooks.

My goal this school year is to bring a global perspective into our learning and incorporate food and music from the Spanish speaking world.

If you have any questions throughout the school year please contact me at:

aromberger@mytusd.org or (714) 730-7395.

I am so excited to get to know you. We are going to have a great year!

High School Summer School Options UPDATED

Summer School continues to be a hot topic for some. We've got some updated more userfriendly flyers. Take a look and let us know if you have any questions. For those students that have earned a D or F in the first semester during their high school career that are eligible to make up the course, be on the lookout for an email coming soon with options to retake the class. You can only take one class at a time. So that'll mean math or English for most. Mrs. Erickson will be able to help you navigate through the process. Please let her and Mrs. Alpay in the office know if you plan on taking any classes this summer. The majority of our students will attend PCHS if they want to do summer school.

CAASPP/State Testing Update

As mentioned a few weeks ago, our dates for State Testing this year are mid-April. We will provide grade-specific dates next week. The State has changed the calculations for each school. they've moved to a dashboard across multiple domains rather than the single score previously in place. One additional piece is how they calculate the participation rate. Our minimum participation rate is 95%. If we do not meet the 95% participation rate, for every student we are short, we receive the lowest possible score. For a school as small as we are, this can be devastating. If you are thinking of opting out, please come in and let's talk.

Reminder High School Students Utilize Grade Slam

Please remember to take advantage of Grade Slam for your academic courses including prior submission for all of your essays as well as support with English, Math and Science classes.
