Art Installation: Winter Wonderland
We are pleased to share our latest art installation, celebrating the beauty and creativity of the winter season. This bulletin board display features artwork created by our talented 3rd grade, 4th grade, and middle school drawing elective students.
Through a variety of techniques and styles, students explored winter themes while expressing their creativity and artistic growth. We invite you to take a moment to enjoy this seasonal showcase, featured in the K-4th hallway, and celebrate the hard work and imagination of our student artists.
Mia: Champion Junior Jumper
We are proud to share that our, 8th grader, Mia, recently competed at the National Western Stock Show with her horse, Calido Starlight. Over the course of three days of competition, Mia earned the title of Champion of the 1 Meter Junior Jumpers division, achieving the highest overall score among all competitors.
This is an outstanding accomplishment that reflects her dedication, skill, and hard work, as well as the strong partnership she has built with Calido Starlight.
Congratulations to Mia on this impressive achievement
Rocco: Football Championship and Defensive MVP
We are proud to celebrate Rocco’s incredible football achievements! He was invited to represent the State of Colorado in the 13U division at the All American Bowl in Bullhead City, Arizona, where his team went undefeated and won the Championship.
As a defensive lineman, Rocco recorded 5.5 sacks, 1 strip sack, and 8 tackles for loss, earning Defensive MVP honors. He also helped lead his Arvada club team to a Carnation Bowl Championship in November, where he was named MVP as well.
Congratulations to Rocco on an outstanding season
National Lutheran Schools Week and Dress Up Days
We are delighted to share that we will be celebrating National Lutheran Schools Week—a special time set aside to rejoice in and give thanks for the gift of Lutheran education.
Throughout the week, our students and staff will focus on sharing God’s grace through Lutheran education, highlighting how faith is woven into learning, service, community, and worship each day at St. John’s. Together, we will celebrate the ways God is at work in our school through special activities, service projects, and opportunities for worship.
National Lutheran Schools Week is supported by the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), which provides resources that invite schools to make a joyful noise in praise, service, community, and worship. These themes encourage our students to reflect on their blessings, express gratitude for their Lutheran education, and live out their faith in meaningful and age-appropriate ways.
We look forward to a joyful and faith-filled week that celebrates our shared mission of nurturing students who grow in faith, excel in education, and thrive in community. Thank you for being our partners in this important ministry and for the many ways you support Lutheran education at St. John’s.
Pennies vs Silver Coin War: Bring Your Coins To Win!
Pennies vs. Silver War is January 25th - 29th
Here’s how it works:
Silver coins (nickels, dimes, quarters) earn positive points for your student’s class.
Pennies count as negative points and can be used to sabotage other classes!
Each morning, Monday through Thursday, students can drop their coins into class jars between 8:00 and 8:15 AM. On Friday Jan. 30, the totals will be calculated, and the winning class will be announced. The class with the most points will win an exciting prize, but the real reward is that all money raised will go to support Love India, a truly meaningful cause close to St. John’s heart.
Start gathering your coins now and join us in this fun, friendly competition! Let’s make a big difference together. Thank you for your support, and may the best class win!

Volunteer for WatchDOGS
We invite the men of our community—dads, grandfathers, uncles, and other special men—to join Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) at St. John’s ELC–8th Grade. This one-time, 4-hour program provides positive male role models, supports safety and student well-being, and gives fathers and father figures a meaningful way to experience school life alongside their children.
Volunteer for Reading Rockstars! (Sign Up for the Rest of the Year)
Become a Reading Rockstar and help our younger students grow as readers! Volunteers commit to 30–60 minutes a week for 4 consecutive weeks, working one-on-one or in small groups to build strong reading habits and a lifelong love of reading.
You can sign up to be a Reading Rockstar until the end of the school year!
