Weekly Hawk Talk
8/28/2026

Notes from Harry the Hawk
What an exciting third week of school! This week was especially busy as our Apex Leadership Fundraiser came to an end. We are still tabulating all the pledges and will know the final total next week!
Thank you to everyone who shared, pledged, donated, and helped make this fundraiser such a success. The laughter, excitement, and fun we saw during Thursday’s event brought our Hawks together and strengthened our school community.
As we head into next week, we cannot wait to welcome you to our first Open House and show you all the wonderful things our students have been learning and working on!

Some helpful reminders
💙 Please Give Us Grace
We have many new families joining us, and we encourage our returning families to help set a great example by following our drop-off and pick-up procedures.
Please also be patient and kind to our staff. Our team will be working outside in the heat to make sure every child gets to the correct location and safely to their guardian.
Drop-off and dismissal WILL take a little longer in the beginning, but with everyone's patience and cooperation, it will get faster!
🚗 Morning Drop-Off
Please make sure your child is ready to exit the car quickly with all of their belongings. Having backpacks, lunch boxes, and other items ready to go is essential to keeping the car line moving.
🚘 Afternoon Dismissal
Please remind your student to watch for their name during dismissal and make their way outside quickly when called. Please fill out the form below if you have not received your driveline number yet.
Older siblings: Please make sure you gather your younger siblings before heading outside to the car.
Every little bit helps us keep dismissal safe and efficient!
Walker Pass Reminder
For the safety of all our students, a Walker Pass is required for any student walking off campus property at dismissal.
Please have your yellow Walker Pass ready to show the staff member before leaving campus. Students will not be permitted to walk off campus without a valid pass.
Need a Walker Pass? Stop by the front office to pick up a form or turn in your completed form.
Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe, smooth, and secure for everyone!
Traffic Plan
🚗 Drop-Off & Dismissal Traffic Reminders
The first few weeks of school can be hectic as everyone gets back into the routine. Please help us keep arrival and dismissal safe, smooth, and efficient by following our traffic procedures.
⛔ DO NOT ENTER THROUGH THE FRONT GATE
All families MUST enter through the BACK GATE for morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal.
The front gate is for STAFF ONLY during these times. Entering through the front gate disrupts the traffic flow and creates backups in our parking lot and on 620.
Please follow the designated traffic pattern and staff directions at all times.
☀️ Morning Drop-Off
ZONE 1 – PK & Kindergarten
- Stay in the LEFT LANE as you enter.
- Pull all the way forward to the Zone 1 entry doors.
- If you have a PK or Kindergarten student and older siblings, you may drop off all of your students in Zone 1.
ZONE 2 – Grades 1–12
- All students in 1st–12th grade should use Zone 2 unless they are arriving with a PK or Kindergarten sibling.
- Please pull all the way forward to the end of the cafeteria sidewalk. This allows us to unload multiple vehicles at once and keeps the line moving.
🚙 Afternoon Pickup
ZONE 1 – Elementary Only | BLUE CARDS
- For families picking up PK–5th grade students only.
- If you have multiple students and all are in elementary grades, use Zone 1.
- Stay in the LEFT LANE.
ZONE 2 – Secondary & Siblings | RED CARDS
- For students in 6th–12th grade.
- If you have students in both elementary and middle/high school, use Zone 2.
- Stay to the RIGHT as you enter.
- At the front of the building, merge into the left lane as indicated on the traffic map. The right lane then becomes EXIT ONLY.
- Pull all the way forward to the end of the cafeteria sidewalk so we can load multiple vehicles at once and keep traffic moving.
⚠️ Important Safety Reminders
Please remain in your vehicle. Zone 1 will have staff available to assist students with opening car doors. Zone 2 students should be able to open their doors and exit independently.
Never drop students off outside the closed gate. Students would have to cross two lanes of active parking-lot traffic, creating a serious safety concern and slowing the flow of vehicles.
Please respect our neighbors. Do not park at the nearby dealership or apartment complex at any time.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work together to make arrival and dismissal safer and faster for everyone! 💙

Dress Code
"Notice to Parents and Students If a student arrives at school out of uniform or is groomed inappropriately, the student’s parent(s) will be called to bring a change of clothes. The student will not be allowed to attend class until he or she is appropriately dressed. Any class time missed will be counted as an unexcused absence. The school reserves the right to determine and restrict unbecoming styles. Violations of the school’s uniform policy and grooming standards will result in incremental disciplinary action. Uniforms with torn pants or shirts with holes are not allowed. All damaged uniform items should be replaced."
