Minshew Families -

We had a great turnout at the PTA sponsored STEAM and Art Show night on Thursday! Walking into the cafeteria with the brightly colored artwork created by our students brought an instant smile to everyone’s face. Thank you to Mrs. Whittaker, for leading an incredible art program at Minshew. More information will be coming soon if you would still like to purchase your child’s artwork in a frame.

Our character trait that we are talking about this month is perseverance. We talk about this character trait on the student-run morning announcements as well as morning meetings in classrooms. One of the examples of perseverance that I have shared with students is reading a book from cover to cover. Developing strong reading skills takes perseverance to build stamina to attend to the written word, especially when there are so many electronic options available to our students. I look forward to continuing to talk to our Minshew Colts about what book they are reading both at home and at school!

It's time to get excited!! The Big Kahuna Limo Rides are scheduled for Thursday, January 30th. Each student who sold 15+ fundraiser items (or 20+ for siblings), is on the list.

• Attendance is taken at 9:15 am every day.
• Students are tardy if not in the classroom at 8:00 am.
• The BACK entrance is locked at 8:00 am. All visitors or tardy students must enter through the front door.
• Students coming in after 9:15 am are marked absent.
• Absence notes or emails must be sent within 3 days of the absence to the front office at: MinshewOffice@mckinneyisd.net or via the MISD Report An Absence form.
