KPF Newsletter 11/5/25
November 5, 2025
A Note from Dr. Busse
Dear Kenny Families -
Are they zombies or K-pop demon hunters? I am not sure, but it's been a week - Halloween, Daylight Saving Time change, a weird Tuesday off, a full moon, elections/politics, and the anxiety of a strike. I prefer the little Red Riding Hood or the Avocado, but the K-pop demon hunters reign most of our days.
I want to first acknowledge the deep value of our teachers and staff. On Monday night, I sat with a big smile and was overcome with pride, watching four amazing educators talk about their craft and the way that we teach children. Tonight, I will highlight the outcomes and snapshots of the work done in our building through student data and climate survey outcomes. The staff are the heart of our school, and their dedication to your children is unwavering.
We fully respect their right to advocate for working conditions that reflect their professional expertise and allow them to provide the highest quality education. The issues being negotiated—whether related to class size, appropriate compensation, or resource allocation—are ultimately about creating the best possible learning environments for your children. We are also hopeful that over the cooling-off period that a compromise will be found and we avoid a strike.
The uncertainty of a potential closure is stressful for us, and we fully acknowledge the stress and anxiety that it is causing for you and your family. All essential updates, resource links, and information can be found on the MPS website. If you are experiencing food insecurity or would like more information about emergency childcare, please reach out to the school or Ms. Nora.
Just like the Kpop Demon Hunters, I know that through community and teamwork, we will overcome the struggles and dark days to find togetherness and beauty in our imperfections. Thank you for your patience, your partnership, and your support of our entire school community—including our phenomenal staff—during this critical time.
In Partnership,
Jessica Busse
