I want to take a moment to reflect on something that often goes unseen, yet impacts our children every single day: the extraordinary work of our teachers.

Teaching is not an easy profession. It requires patience, resilience, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to the growth and well-being of every student. Each day, our teachers show up ready to inspire, support, and guide your children—often going far beyond what is visible in the classroom.

We believe it is important to intentionally pause and recognize this dedication. Our teachers invest countless hours planning lessons, adapting to individual needs, and fostering an environment where all students can thrive. Their work shapes not only academic success but also confidence, curiosity, and character.

As a school community, we are deeply grateful for their efforts. We invite you to join us in honoring and appreciating the educators who make such a meaningful difference in the lives of our students every day.

Meet our wonderful team and read about some of their favorites!

I’d like to take a moment to recognize the incredible care our school nurse, Nurse Udengwu, provides to our students each day. From small bumps and scrapes to more serious health concerns, she supports every child with compassion, professionalism, and expertise.

She helps ensure our students are safe, healthy, and ready to learn, and her impact is felt across our entire school community.

That’s why we are especially excited to celebrate her this Wednesday on Nurse’s Day. We invite you to join us in showing appreciation for all that she does for our students. Let's write her a nice note or draw her a picture. She loves receiving notes/drawings from students. Our nurse is also very healthy, so send your favorite fruit and let's make her a fruit basket!

While there's a slight improvement, we need to keep working on our tardies. We can do this! Students with tardies are not eligible for the drawings.

Please help your child by:

• Ensuring they get a good night’s sleep
• Making sure they arrive at school on time each day
• Encouraging a positive mindset and reminding them to simply do their best

For the next 15 days, students will participate in a bonus attendance incentive for SBA.

All students who arrive at school on time and stay for the entire day for all 15 days will be entered into a drawing to select a gift from “Multnomah’s Attendance Toy Box.” Prizes include cool LEGO sets, Pokémon toys, and other items students have said they would love to choose from. Check out the images below. Show it to your child to remind them. Zero Tardies. Zero Absences. Zero Early Outs. ALL STUDENTS, testing or not.
