Week of November 2nd - 6th

5th Grade Reminders:
- Strings Schedule:
- Nassar, Burdick, and Parker will be on Mondays and Wednesdays.
- Blakely, McGrew, and Clark will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Safety Patrol Team C will begin this Week!
This Week's Assessments:
- None!
Reading:
This week in reading, we will be learning how decipher between relevant and irrelevant support details in a nonfiction text! Students will also learn how to synthesize information that they have read across multiple texts this week!
Math:
This week your students will learn how to add and subtract decimals to the hundredths place! There will be a quiz on these skills the following week on Monday, November 9th.
Writing:
This week we will be wrapping up our first narrative writing piece! Your students will be focusing on the editing and publishing stages of the writing process!
Science:
(Nassar, Parker, Blakely)
Your students will begin their final project for our current unit this week! Your students will choose a type of ecosystem in order to explore the different elements found within it. Students will identify a variety of producers and consumers within their ecosystems and will create a "scene" poster in order to explain how these elements fit within a food web!
Social Studies:
(Burdick, Clark, McGrew)
This week students will be learning about The New Deal and how it helped offer relief for those in need during the Great Depression.
Leader in Me:
This week, we will learn how to describe ways that your students lived their personal mission statement in the past and plan for ways to apply their personal mission statement to challenges in the future!
