Leadership Letter Leadership Letter

Dear Legacy Families,

Welcome to the last full week of the 2025-2026 school year! This week is filled with several annual end-of-year events that are incredibly special to us. From 3rd grade’s Coffee House to our kindergarteners and 8th graders moving up and on, this week is sure to be a good one. For those of you with seniors currently attending Elizabeth High School, Friday morning they will get to do their “Senior Walk” and walk the halls of Legacy in a parade of cheers and congratulations for finishing their K-12 career!

As the Elementary Assistant Principal, my particular favorite experience is watching our youngest students grow up over the course of the school year. On the first day of school, they come to us in an anxious flurry of excitement and nerves, with backpacks the same size they are. Over the course of the school year, those nerves dissipate and they grow leaps and bounds both academically and socially. Somehow, those backpacks that were once overwhelmingly large seem to shrink in size.

I’ve lived almost my entire life around the school calendar, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Each school year represents a wild ride of great successes and learning opportunities – days filled with excitement, joy, growth, and laughter, and those where we grit our teeth, take a breath, and remind ourselves of the reasons why we love this work. I personally count it a privilege to take that ride with this community each year. Thank you for choosing Legacy and for making this school community as sweet as it is!

If I don’t see you around the halls in these final school days, have a blessed summer break! We’ll see you in August.

Anna Bengtsson

Elementary Assistant Principal

KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION

Kindergarten will attend school on their last day on Friday, May 15th. On Monday, May 18th, we will have their graduation ceremony at 12:30pm. Children will arrive at their classrooms by noon to put on caps and gowns, and parents will be seated in the gymnasium. We have an inventory of caps and gowns for the children during the ceremony. These will be cleaned before we put them on the children. When the ceremony is complete, we ask parents to go to their cars and enter the front carpool line. The children will go to their classrooms to remove their gowns and will be dismissed through the front carpool area

8TH GRADE GRADUATION

The 8th graduation ceremony is semi-formal, so please iron your student’s gown. On Monday, May 18th, your student must be at school from 8-10am for graduation rehearsal and must wear their uniform. Students must be picked up after rehearsal and are not allowed to leave the property on their own. The students must return to school by 4:30pm. and report to Ms. Moore's room, located on the west side of the building, just before the exit doors. Please arrive promptly at 4:30pm so we can distribute cords and sashes and get ready. Only 8th grade students are allowed in the room before the ceremony. The graduation ceremony will begin at 5:30pm and last approximately one hour. There will be a 10-minute intermission after the ceremony while we prepare the cafeteria for the End-of-Year Dance. This dance is for Legacy Academy 8th grade students only. Students will be dismissed out the back east doors and should be picked up promptly at 8:30pm.

5TH GRADE CONTINUATION

5th grade will have a continuation ceremony on the last day of school. This ceremony will take place Wednesday, May 20th at 9:30am.

Dear Parent/Guardians,

Our middle school team has been working hard to put together a fun, activities-filled half-day to close out the school year on May 20th. We wanted to inform you that it will be a Free Dress of Choice Day, and that once the activities are concluded we will have a brief celebration with treats and awards. Carpool dismissal will start at 12pm. We suggest the students wear comfortable, athletic clothing to match the weather, as most of our activities will occur outside. In the event of unfavorable weather, we have an indoor backup set of activities. Please have your students bring a water bottle and a snack. As a reminder, lunch and bus service will not be provided.

Thank you all for being invested in your child(ren)'s education. We hope field day is a fun way to kick off a well-deserved summer break.

Sincerely,

The Middle School Team
