A Message from Principal Price
Dear Lemon Crest Families,
As we head into Fall Break, I’ve been reflecting on how truly grateful I am for our wonderful Lemon Crest students and the incredible community we have and continue to grow here. While we certainly have our areas of strength and areas to grow, Lemon Crest is a special community with amazing students. I truly believe in the potential of our children, and I'm so happy to serve as your principal.
Families, YOU play such an important role in making Lemon Crest a special place, too, and I want to thank you for your partnership, support, and trust. Whether it’s encouraging your child at home, joining us for events, or simply staying connected reading this weekly newsletter, your involvement makes a meaningful difference. I hope you all enjoy a restful, joyful Fall Break with your loved ones! We look forward to welcoming our Lions back refreshed and ready for all the great learning ahead!
2nd Grade Bike Giveaway!
Yesterday, we held a special assembly for our "writing contest" and bike giveaway for our amazing 2nd graders. Each student was to write a short essay on who or what they are grateful and why. Their essays truly were heartwarming and beautiful! We had 3 really awesome Padres bikes for the contest "winners," BUT the big surprise was that EVERY SINGLE SECOND GRADER got a brand new bike!!!!! Let me tell you, it was HARD to keep this huge secret from our students and the teachers, and the looks on their faces was pure joy!!!! Seeing their faces light up when they realized that they all got a bike is definitely something I'll remember for the rest of my career!
Please check out our school's Instagram for some pictures and video clips! @LemonCrest_lusd
This is one of the ways that we share all of the amazing positive things we have going on at Lemon Crest! A HUGE shout-out to the Christian Brothers Emergency Building Services, East County Posse and the Rotary Club for donating these bikes to our students!!!!
DONATIONS NEEDED!
As is tradition, our school will be organizing a Giving Tree to provide holiday gifts for families in our community. We’ll need your help to ensure all the wish lists are filled. We welcome you to stop by the office and choose an item or two (or more!) off the tree to purchase for a Lemon Crest student. All gifts are due by December 12th and should be turned into the main office unwrapped and accompanied by the paper ornament. If you would like to participate, but are unable to stop by the office in-person, please reach out to our School Counselor, Teresa Pfab at tpfab@lsusd.net. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Contacting Teachers & Principal Price
If you have a question or concern about your child, we encourage you to speak with your child's teacher first. Please note that during the instructional day, teachers and staff may not be able to respond to your message, email or call since they are busy doing what they do best: teaching! Your child's teacher will respond to you when they are able. Thank you for understanding!
Contacting Principal Price:
Email: jprice@lsusd.net
Call the Front Office: (619) 390-2527 - The front office staff will take a message, and Principal Price will call you when she is available
In-Person: Call the office so Mrs. Whitehurst or Ms. Madina can help us set up a meeting so I can dedicate time to you!
Many of your questions may be answered in our Lemon Crest Family Handbook A-Z . We ask that all families read this.
Please know that there is a 24-48 hour "grace period" in my response time. When I respond, call or meet with you, I need time to get informed in order to have possible answers to your questions. I am prioritizing getting to know our students so I can support their success and am often not readily available in the office. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Theme for the Year: Planting Possibility
This year, our school's theme is Planting Possibility, inspired by the children's book, Curious Garden, written by Peter Brown. Click the link below for a read-aloud of the book by Principal Price!
