Stronger Together: Celebrating the Spirit of Student Collaboration
Dear Wolfpack Community,
When visitors step onto our campus, they often notice the energy, the enthusiasm, and the deep sense of school pride. But what makes our school truly special isn't just individual achievement—it’s the incredible ways our students show up to support one another. When students lift each other up, we know our campus culture is thriving, and we are winning together.
Over the past few weeks, we have seen inspiring examples of groups helping groups, proving that our strongest asset is our unity:
Inclusion in the Spotlight: At our recent Choir Concert, members of the American Sign Language Honor Society (ASLHS) partnered with the GOHS Chorus to interpret the performance live. Their dedication ensured that our music could be felt and enjoyed by all audience members, highlighting the beauty of art and accessibility working hand-in-hand.
Bringing the SPIRIT: Have you been to a Friday night athletic event or a campus rally lately? The electrifying atmosphere doesn't happen by accident. It is powered by a joint effort between our GOHS Chorus, ASLHS, Spirit of Great Oak Band, Cheer Team, Dance Team, and STEP Team. Coming together from different disciplines, these student groups combine their talents to bring unmatched energy and show our athletes what true Wolfpack support looks like.
Celebrating Diversity & Connection: Our Peer Leaders have been working shoulder-to-shoulder with our diverse Cultural Clubs to organize interactive Lunchtime Culture Fests. Through music, art, food, and shared traditions, these events build bridges, foster belonging, and allow our students to teach and learn from one another.
These are just a few examples of the magic that happens daily across our campus. Whether it’s upperclassmen mentoring fresh faces, clubs co-hosting service projects, or teams cheering each other on from the sidelines, our students continuously remind us of the power of teamwork.
Thank you to our dedicated advisors, coaches, and parents who encourage this spirit of collaboration every day. Let’s keep celebrating each other’s successes and building a culture where everyone belongs!
Go Wolfpack!

October 30th: Dress for a Future Career/Halloween Costume Day
🎃 Costume Dress-Up Day Guidelines
We are excited to hold our annual Costume Dress-Up Day on October 30! We love seeing our students' creativity, school spirit, and enthusiasm as they dress as their Future Career or in their Halloween costume. To ensure a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for everyone, please make sure all costumes adhere to the following standards:
No Masks: Face coverings or full-head masks that conceal a student's identity are not permitted during the school day for safety and security reasons.
No Weapons or Props: Props that resemble weapons of any kind (including fake swords, toy guns, blasters, knives, or sharp items) are strictly prohibited.
School Appropriate: All costumes must comply with our standard school dress code and be suitable for a normal academic and classroom setting.
Thank you for helping us keep this tradition fun, inclusive, and safe for all students and staff!
College and Career in Full Swing at GOHS!
Door decorating contests, CCGI prize wheels, and counselor-led lessons bring career and college planning to life at GOHS.
Preparing our students for life after high school is one of our top priorities at Great Oak High School. This week, our campus has been buzzing with energy as we host College and Career Kick Off (CKO)—a dynamic series of interactive events, classroom guidance, and hands-on workshops designed to help every student chart their post-secondary path!
College Door Decorating Contest: Walk down our hallways and you will see remarkable creativity on display! Classrooms across campus decorated their doors with college pride, career paths, and motivational themes to inspire our Wolfpack.
Spin the Wheel for Prizes & CCGI Exploration: Students completed key planning tasks on the California Colleges Guidance Initiative (CCGI) platform to research colleges and match their personal interests with potential careers. Completing their tasks earned them a chance to spin the prize wheel during lunch!
Campus Planter Signs: Keep an eye out for custom college and career visual displays featured in our campus planters, highlighting various institutions, trade pathways, and career options.
Counselor Lessons in English Classrooms: Our school counselors visited English classrooms across campus to deliver hands-on guidance lessons, helping students align their strengths and interests with concrete post-secondary goals.
College Application Workshops: For our seniors, applying to college can feel overwhelming, but they do not have to do it alone! We held application workshops where students received direct, step-by-step assistance with their college applications and financial aid prep.
Whether your student is exploring four-year universities, community colleges, trade programs, or military pathways, our team is dedicated to providing the tools and resources they need to succeed after graduation.

A Note From PBIS: PBIS & Eligibility Reminders
Dear Great Oak Families,
As we work together to support student success, clear communication about our campus expectations is key. Today, we want to share an important reminder regarding student eligibility for extracurricular activities, events, and campus privileges through our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program.
Students who accumulate 8 or more hours of detention—due to tardies, single-period truancies, or other disciplinary actions—are placed on our school’s NO GO List.
What does being on the NO GO List mean?
Students on the NO GO List are temporarily ineligible for several school privileges and events, including:
Purchasing items from the school bookstore (e.g., parking permits, Prom tickets, Disneyland Grad Night tickets, graduation cords, and stoles).
Attending school events, dances, rallies, assemblies, or athletic contests.
Student-Athletes: Inability to leave class early for away game transportation or participate in home/away athletic contests.
How to Get Off the NO GO List
To regain full eligibility, students must clear their detention hours to below 8 hours total. Detention can be served at the following times in Room 306:
Before School: 7:50 AM – 8:20 AM
Lunch: Every day in Room 306
After School: 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM
Saturday School (4 Hours of Credit): The next Saturday School takes place on Saturday, October 17th.
Parents and students can sign up for the upcoming Saturday School using this registration link.
Senior Class Reminder 🎓
A special note for our Senior class families: Seniors must clear ALL outstanding discipline hours prior to the end of the school year in order to receive their graduation tickets. We strongly encourage seniors to begin clearing any balance now so they stay on track for graduation celebrations!
Thank you for your ongoing partnership in encouraging prompt attendance and positive habits. If you have questions regarding your student’s detention balance or PBIS status, please reach out to our PBIS Coordinator, Mr. Morton, or contact the front office.
AP and IB Exam Registration
AP Readiness Program at UCR
TVUSD students may attend the AP Readiness program at UCR in order to receive supplemental, supportive instruction in their respective AP courses. The intent of the workshops is to provide instructional support to AP students in courses including:
