Patriot Nation,

We have a busy week ahead next week! We are celebrating Start with Hello Week all week as a time to teach about inclusion and connectedness. We also have our "Not your average open house" as we are taking this time this year to engage and teach about the Habits of Highly Successful Kids. You don't want to miss this as you will get to learn more about our Leader in Me Program, and hopefully get some take-aways to implement at home.

We are also host our first ever "Leadership Signing Day." Each student will have the opportunity to sign a letter of intent to be a leader. We often see high schools celebrate National Signing Day as student make commitments to go to college. Why not have a Patriot Signing Day where make our commitments to follow the Habits, be respectful, be responsible, and be ready to succeed. Our schedule for the event is below and we would love to have you join in the celebration.

Have a great weekend!

Thursday, September 22nd is our annual Open House event at Jack. We will kick off the night with a PTA meeting at 5:00 and Title I informational session. At 5:30 our "not your average open house" event will begin as we are hosting Habit House. This is an opportunity to engage our Patriots and their families in our 8 Habits with station activities to learn about the Habits and give you all some take-aways to bring home. Hopefully you can make it!

Leadership Signing Day is a new event at Jack to celebrate our commitment to leadership and to following the Habits of Highly Successful Kids. This is the foundation of our Leader in Me Program and we wanted to find a way to reinforce this with our Patriots. Each grade level will participate in a "signing day" where they will sign a letter of intent to be a leader, be responsible, be successful, and be ready to succeed. We look forward to an exciting event and hope you can make it!

The City of Tyler did a traffic study on our dismissal locations in the past few weeks. They have now installed No Parking, Standing, Stopping Signs from 2:30-3:30 on Balsam Gap and Rock Point. This area not be accessible during this time. Both sides of RockPoint Lane and the cross walk area have been marked. Our front car loop will extend through RockPoint Lane along Balsam Gap as necessary.

We know this is a new process and understand that with this change we may have some new issues arise. The City of Tyler traffic engineers deemed this the safest solution. If you have any questions please let us know.
