From the President
Members,
TheatreFest is getting closer and we are feeling the excitement of our return to Galveston. Registration is underway, and we are putting the finishing touches on a schedule of programming that is full of dynamic artists and inspiring presenters.
TxETA is blessed to have such a dedicated and innovative staff to assure that everyone enjoys the best convention experience possible.
We will be celebrating “The Power of Us” this year. We have overcome significant challenges in the past year, and while the cloud of uncertainty has not completely lifted, we remain focused on us as a community of theatre artists who will continue to band together as we nurture the next generation of powerful theatre artists.
Looking forward to seeing you in Galveston!

Should a member who is not included in the submitted slate of nominees wish to be considered for an office, they may be nominated from the floor at the business meeting.
A letter of intent must be submitted to the Nominations Committee Chair at president-elect@tetatx.com at least 30 days prior to the business meeting. This year the deadline to submit a letter of intent is September 1st. The letter must include the name and office for which the potential nominee would like to be considered.
This nomination will not be considered official and will not be included on the ballot until the name of the potential nominee is nominated from the floor during the business meeting. Once a nomination is received from the floor, a verification period ensuring nomination processes were completed prior to the 30-day deadline, will take place. Once the nominee is verified, members can use the space on the ballot for a “write-in” candidate should a voting member choose to cast their vote for a nominee from the floor.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Business Meeting!

TxETA College/University Student Internship Program
In 2018, TxETA rolled out a new Internship Program specifically for college/university Theatre majors. Due to its success, 2021 TheatreFest will continue with the same!!
The students selected for the Internship Program need only pay for the TxETA $30 Membership and travel to and from the Convention site, Moody Gardens Hotel in Galveston (Sept. 28 – Oct. 2, 2021).
Only 60 students will be accepted into this program, so we are looking for the best! This is a great opportunity for deserving students that may not be able to afford to attend TheatreFest otherwise.
College/University students will assist with the following areas of Convention:
Technical Performance Spaces, Registration, Exhibits, PlayFest, DesignFest, FilmFest and Info/Hospitality Booth
