Miscoe Hill Newsletter
August 24, 2026

Ms. Corron's Corner
Dear Miscoe Families,
We hope you are all enjoying the home stretch of summer! We are excited to welcome our students back for the 2026-2027 school year. Everything that you need to be prepared for the start of the school year is included in this newsletter!
Miscoe has been buzzing with construction activity all summer long. Crews have been working around the clock to install and wax new floors, complete student bathroom renovations, and test our new intercom system. Teams are finalizing cleaning and tackling punch-list items this week. Ongoing construction requires a few extra days to ensure the building is completely safe, clean, and ready for students next week. As a result, we have adjusted our welcome back event schedule:
Rescheduled Welcome Back Events
New Date: All events originally scheduled for Wednesday, August 27th have been moved to Monday, August 31st.
New Student Tours (Grades 6-8)
When: Monday, August 31st | 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Details: If your student is in grades 6-8 and new to Miscoe, join us for a guided tour to get familiar with the school!
5th Grade Summer Social
When: Monday, August 31st | 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Details: Incoming 5th graders are invited to meet their peers, explore the school, and kick off the year with some fun! Parents and caregivers may drop students off at 3:00 PM and return at 4:00 PM for pickup. Students should meet Ms. Corron and Mr. Cuomo in the auditorium. A special thank you to the Miscoe Hill PTO for supporting this event!
We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we put the final touches on our school. We look forward to welcoming all students back to school on September 2nd, 2026!
Million Words or Less!
The new school year is just around the corner! We want to make Miscoe Hill a place where every student feels known, valued, and supported. To help us get to know your child, we invite you to participate in our "A Million Words or Less" activity.
Please tell us what makes your child unique - their strengths, motivations, dreams, and how we can best support them. We collected these comments last year, and they were truly helpful in getting to know each student as an individual.
You can share your thoughts using this form in whatever format works best for you:
Written paragraphs or bullet points
An uploaded document
A photograph
If you submitted last school year, we saved your comments to pass along to this year's teachers. Feel free to send new ones if you prefer!
Thank you for sharing your insights with us. We look forward to a fantastic year together!
With gratitude,
Ms. Corron
