Class of 2026 - Joanna Peters

In junior and senior classes, we have discussed the difference (shocking differences) between sticker price and net price for colleges. Here is a great article that outlines some of those differences.

This coming April, all juniors at TCA will take the SAT (dates TBD). This is a digital exam using the Bluebook app. There are many ways to prepare for the test. We recommend taking an at-home timed SAT AND ACT practice test and then spending time preparing for the test you score better on. Starting 8-12 weeks before the scheduled test provides ample time to understand the test structure, get comfortable with the type of questions, and work on improving scores. Our website includes several options for free prep and more.

Class of 2027 - Katina Dahl

This week, sophomores worked in history class on the first step in connecting their Naviance inventory results to career opportunities. We reviewed and evaluated inventory results from the Self Discovery tab in Naviance by answering survey questions. In their next Connections visit to history class second semester, we will continue connecting inventory results to post-secondary pathways. Parents and guardians can see the results of student inventories via the family Naviance log-in under Self-Discovery. Contact Jodi Hoffman at tcavisits@asd20.org for her to resend your login to the email listed in Infinite Campus.

Career Spotlight - Veterinarians

Are you interested in the veterinary field? Did you know that in the last election. Colorado voters approved Proposition 129. Proposition 129 establishes a career pathway for a Veterinary Professional Associate, or Veterinary PA, akin to a physician assistant in human medicine. These professionals will hold a master’s degree and work under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian. By enabling Veterinary PAs to provide quality, routine medical care, more pets can be treated — reducing the burden on existing veterinary staff and allowing veterinarians to focus on more complex diagnostics and procedures. Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences has developed a robust and comprehensive master’s program for Veterinary PAs. This program, created by national experts, is expected to launch in 2025. Graduates will be equipped to work in animal shelters and veterinary clinics across the state. Look for more colleges to follow this new opportunity! Check out My Colorado Journey for more information about careers with animals: Animal Systems and Environmental Health
