Hello Charger Families,

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the sunshine!

Last week was full of energy and accomplishment here at school! Our students showed great heart during Earth Day clean-up projects, our teachers dove into powerful LETRS training to sharpen their literacy instruction, and the Charger Assemblies were a blast—celebrating student success and building school spirit. We’re so proud of the dedication our entire school community continues to show.

Take a moment to read below for important updates and a few exciting family events coming your way this week!

K8 Small Group Support

Social-emotional groups in our K8 school provides young students with a supportive space to build important skills such as self-awareness, empathy, emotional regulation, and positive relationship-building.

Through programs like Behavior Academies and Character Strong lessons, students engage in structured activities, discussions, and games that help them recognize and express their feelings, solve problems peacefully, and develop resilience.

These groups are led by staff from the Principal, School Counselor, MTSS teacher, and paraprofessionals. They offer opportunities to practice communication, cooperation, and coping strategies in a safe, nurturing environment.

By participating in social-emotional groups, students strengthen their confidence and ability to navigate both academic challenges and social situations with greater success.

K-2 Grade Book Giveaway – May 1st

Research shows that easy access to books and early reading experiences are among the strongest predictors of future academic success—regardless of income or parental education. Having books in the home and reading them together supports equity and opens doors for lifelong learning.

Please join us on Thursday, May 1st for our Book Giveaway and Parent Meeting. We’ll host two sessions at 3:45 PM and 5:15 PM. Families are welcome to attend either time, and each child will have the opportunity to select 12 books to take home and enjoy.

We look forward to seeing you there!
