Mr. Covert's Musings
Today is Marking Period 2 Interim Day
Today is the halfway point for Marking Period 2! This weekend, you should log in to Schoology with your student to check their progress. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to their teacher directly.
If they are not achieving to their potential, I would recommend that you reach out to to your student's assigned School Counselor (assignments below). Our counselors are outstanding, and they do a great job of helping our students be successful.

Linked below is the latest edition of the Bulls on Parade. Also, this month during lunches, we began celebrating the students recognized in the Bulls on Parade. It was a lot of fun, and even involved the whole admin team playing kazoos!
National Honor Society Applications - Now Open
National Honor Society applications are open from December 8th until January 9th. Interested sophomores and juniors who meet the scholarship requirement of a 3.30 unweighted cumulative GPA and have maintained attendance at the state standard of 94% with no more than three unexcused tardies per quarter are invited to complete the online application. The application requires students to detail their accomplishments in and commitment to the four pillars of NHS: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Applications can only be completed online, and students must be logged in through their BCPS credentials to access the form. The application will close on Friday, January 9th at 7:30 AM. Late applications are not accepted. If students have questions or would like support with the application process, they are invited to attend an Enrichment support session on Friday, 12/12 in Mr. Causarano’s room, SC102. Interested students should sign up with Mr. Causarano in AllTimely.
Bulls Football - A Great Season
Congrats to the Varsity and JV Football Teams for great seasons!
The Varsity Team had a remarkable season that had a deep run into the State Playoffs. Unfortunately, they lost a close one to Liberty in the State Quarterfinals.
The JV Team had a strong 8-1 record, with only a close loss to the JV County Champs, Overlea.
Both teams played hard and represented the school well! Seniors, congrats on a great HS career! The rest of the team, we look forward to next season.
Softball Outfield Fence Construction
Last month, the BCPS Board of Education approved a proposal that allowed for construction of an outfield fence on the upper softball field. Construction has begun, and should be done for the start of the season in the spring. A big thank you goes out to the Softball Team and Coaches, Hereford Sports Boosters, Winkler Fencing, and Team BCPS for making the project a possibility!
