Updates from Allenwood School

June 2026 Newsletter
Principal's Message
Dear Allenwood Elementary School Families,
As we enter the final month of the school year, our Allenwood Dragons continue to work hard, learn, and grow each day. While summer is just around the corner, I want to remind everyone that meaningful learning is still taking place in our classrooms each and every day. We ask for your continued partnership in encouraging your children to stay focused, put forth their best effort, and continue demonstrating positive behavior throughout the remainder of the school year.
Please also remind students that our expectations for behavior at school and on the buses remain the same through the last day of school. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment for all students.
We are also looking forward to our End of Year Grade-Level Parties, which will take place on Tuesday, June 16th. The schedule is as follows:
- Kindergarten: 9:15 AM – 10:00 AM
- 1st Grade: 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM
- 2nd Grade: 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM
- 3rd Grade: 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM
- 4th Grade: 12:15 PM – 1:00 PM
More information from teachers regarding specific classroom activities will be shared as the date approaches.
Additionally, as we begin planning for next school year, I would like to address class placements. Please understand that many factors go into these decisions in order to create balanced and supportive classroom environments for all students. Because of this, I am not able to honor individual placement requests. I truly appreciate your understanding and trust in our staff as we make these thoughtful decisions.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the school year. Let’s finish strong, Dragons!
With Dragon Pride,
James Sterenczak

WTPS Appoints Dr. David Bleakley as New Superintendent of Schools
As you are aware, Dr. Handerhan announced back in the fall that she will be retiring at the end of this school year. Since then, the Wall Township Board of Education has been actively engaged in the search for a new Superintendent of Schools. At last night’s Board of Education Meeting, the Board of Education appointed Dr. David Bleakley as the next WTPS Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2026. Dr. Bleakley brings with him over 20 years of educational experience, and the Board of Education is thrilled to welcome him to the District.
