A Message from Our Leadership Team

We hope everyone has been staying warm during this stretch of snowy weather. The snow days this week certainly brought some excitement, and we hope your families were able to enjoy a little extra time together. We were so happy to welcome our students back into the building and hear their stories as the halls filled up again.

February has been a meaningful month at Rossi. Our classrooms have been filled with thoughtful conversations and engaging lessons as we celebrated Black History Month and Lunar New Year. We are proud of the way our students approach learning about different cultures and histories with curiosity and respect. Beyond the special celebrations, it is the everyday moments, the smiles at arrival, the effort in the classroom, and the kindness shown to one another, that truly make this school community special.

As we head into March, we want to remind families how important consistent attendance is for student success. Each school day builds on the one before it, and being present helps students stay connected, confident, and engaged.

We are also looking forward to Read Across America Week and our Read a Palooza event next week. It is always a highlight of the year and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading together.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are grateful each day for the opportunity to work with your children and to be part of this community.

Love,

Mrs. Coia, Principal

Mr. Cif, Assistant Principal

At Rossi, we celebrate diversity as our strength and acceptance as our mission not just during Black History Month, but throughout the entire year. This season offered our school community meaningful opportunities to reflect, learn, and celebrate together in ways that were both inspiring and joyful.

Our students gathered for banner assemblies that honored the cultural, historical, and innovative contributions of African Americans.

The program blended reflection and celebration, beginning with remarks from Principal Coia and a student friendly look at the origins and impact of Black History Month. A powerful rendition of Lift Every Voice and Sing set the tone for the experience. Guest speakers, including respected educators, community leaders, authors, and public servants, shared personal stories about leadership, perseverance, character, and purpose. Students also contributed in powerful ways, from explaining the meaning behind traditional African attire to performing a captivating dance that celebrated heritage and pride. Music and student participation brought energy and connection to the entire program.

Our younger Rossi Owls welcomed members of the New Jersey State Police as guest readers. Through stories highlighting figures such as Ruby Bridges, Jesse Owens, and the women of Hidden Figures, students explored resilience, achievement, and the importance of believing in one’s potential. Troopers also spoke about their work in the community, offering students insight into service and responsibility. The visit reflected the strength of our partnerships and the shared commitment to uplifting young learners.

We were also proud to welcome the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. through Project L O V E, whose dedication to service, sisterhood, and scholarship continues to make a positive impact on our school community.

Black history is American history. It is a story of courage, brilliance, resilience, and innovation. At Rossi, we are committed to ensuring our students see themselves reflected in that story. When we honor one another’s heritage and learn together, we strengthen our entire community. That is the Rossi way.

Through a variety of engaging activities, students explored what it means to keep going even when things feel challenging. From problem-solving tasks and team-building challenges to reflective discussions and goal-setting exercises, each activity encouraged our students to push through obstacles and stay determined.

We are so proud of the grit, resilience, and positive attitudes we saw throughout the building. Perseverance is a skill that will serve our students not just in school, but in life — and they truly rose to the challenge!

Rossi Safety Patrol Scores Touchdown for Soup Kitchen! Rossi Safety Patrol Scores Touchdown for Soup Kitchen!

Anthony Rossi Safety Patrol proudly sponsored our Pop-Up Souper Bowl Food Drive to benefit the Vineland Soup Kitchen — and what a winning play it was! Our Rossi community truly kicked off the week with heart, donating an impressive number of food items to help neighbors in need.

Every grade brought their A-game with items like canned fruit and veggies, soups, pasta, boxed potatoes, snacks, and more — and your support scored big for our community.

🎉 Congratulations to 5th Grade for taking it to the house and winning the challenge with the most items donated! You really flew down the field with your generosity!

Huge thanks to the co-chairs of the food drive, Mr. Martine and Mrs. Platt, for calling all the right plays to make this drive so successful. And thank you to Mrs. Debbie Eisinger of the Vineland Soup Kitchen for her collaboration and constant support — your teamwork helped make this initiative a real championship moment!

Thank you to everyone who contributed — together we truly made a difference and showed what it means to be champions off the field! 🏆💚
