News from Principal Bunting

Dear Carmen Arace Intermediate School Community,

Here are the latest school reminders and updates:

When visiting the school, please note that a photo ID is required when checking in at the front desk.

Communicate absences and early dismissals to Ms. Broxton tbroxton@blmfld.org. Early dismissal pick-ups should be completed by 2:15 PM. All other pick-ups will resume at the regular 2:45 dismissal time.

Grade 6 families, please ensure that you have completed and submitted the required state health assessment record for your child. The nurse recently sent out letters to families with detailed information. Contact Nurse Nestor, 860-286-2638, if you need assistance.

Students will be bringing home the I-Ready Family Report to communicate their performance on the winter assessments in reading and math. Please review and discuss these results with your child.

Sincerely,

Ms. Bunting

Key takeaways to support students include:

  • Discuss topics that are appropriate to share online and at school.

  • Check conversations on platforms such as Roblox or group chats periodically.

  • Students may be held accountable if they share inappropriate content even if they are not the original poster.

  • Families should utilize apps such as mmguardian, Bark phone, and Family Link to limit and monitor children’s online access.

  • Officers emphasized their willingness to support families if you need a resource to discuss sensitive subjects.
