Dear Summit Hill Parents, Guardians, and Students,

We have wrapped up week 3 and our students are getting acclimated to school. I want to thank each of you for your support both at school and at home with our students. Our student behaviors have been impressive and you should be so proud of them.

We will be kicking off our campus-wide House program on Tuesday, September 3rd. Students will get an explanation of the program and we will reveal what House they will join. I have a parent information flyer below in this newsletter to help you understand our program and the reasons behind the program.

Do you have a career that you would like to share with our students? We are looking for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, community members, or anyone that has a career they can share with our students. One of our campus goals this year focuses on College, Career, Military Readiness (CCMR) and we want to work towards this goal by offering career days. Volunteers will come to our campus and give a 20-30 minute explanation to our PK/K and 1st/2nd groups. Please contact me if you are interested or know of anyone that would be interested.

Summit Hill will incorporate a campus-wide HOUSE system. The HOUSE system is designed to create a positive campus culture and climate, model appropriate expectations, incorporate Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, assist with social and emotional learning, and supplement Restorative Practices. The HOUSE system creates a since of belonging for all students and staff. Students and staff will work alongside each other to complete various campus and community projects. HOUSES will also points for 9-week incentives and an end of the year incentive. Please see the flyer for more information.

Parents and Guardians,

Please do not send any type of medication with your student. You must bring it to the school and give it to Nurse Holly. This includes anything from eye drops to ointments to Tylenol to anything that used to help heal any part of your body. There is a form that you will need to fill out if you want your student to receive any medication during school hours.

Report cards will be available on Parent Portal this year. We will not send home a paper copy of your student's report card. Also, if your student is absent, please send a parent note or contact our front office and inform them of your student's absence.
