Yearbook Information:

The PTO is purchasing a Yearbook for each of our Fourth Grade students! Thank you, PTO!

If you have a child in K-3, and you would like to purchase a Yearbook, please order your Yearbook by 8:00 am on May 18, 2021. You can purchase a Yearbook for $20.00 on this website:

https://link.entourageyearbooks.com/YBStore/YearbookStoreMain.asp?yearbook_id=46908

If you have any questions regarding the Yearbook, please reach out to the PTO at hooverpto2@gmail.com .

Thank you to all of our PTO volunteers who worked hard to create a Yearbook this year under extremely challenging circumstances.

Here is the plan for the Fourth Grade Move Up Day:

  • All Hoover Fourth Grade students will participate in one Move Up Day Celebration in the Cafeteria at a distance of three feet.
  • All students will wear masks during this indoor event.
  • D-1 students are invited to participate, but they do not have to participate.
  • All students will wear T-Shirts during the Celebration that the PTO will provide.
  • The Celebration will take place on June 11 from 9:30 am to 10:00 am.
  • Unfortunately, parents and guests will not be able to attend the Celebration.
  • I will create a video of the Celebration.
  • I will make that video available to parents by 5:00 pm on June 15.
  • The Celebration will not be Livestreamed.
  • The PTO has purchased Lawn Signs that we will distribute to parents of our Fourth Grade students.
  • Parents can pick up the Lawn Signs on May 27 during the Car Rider Dismissal.
  • Parents can pick up the Lawn Signs on May 27 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on the Blacktop.
  • Parents can pick up the Lawn Signs on June 1 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on the Blacktop.
  • Our Teachers have done a great job with decorating the D-Hall for our Fourth Grade students.
  • I will include videos of the D Hall in the Celebration video that I provide to parents.

We are very proud of our Fourth Grade students! We will honor their efforts and achievements at this Celebration. They are ready for middle school!

The PTO is also creating a video which will include highlights of our Fourth Grade students' experiences at Hoover. Students will watch this video in their own classrooms (masked and at a distance of 3 feet) after the Move Up Day Celebration in the Cafeteria on June 11. The PTO will share the link to this video with parents by 5:00 pm on June 15 as well.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

PSSA Exams are Scheduled to Take Place in June of 2021!

In June of 2021, our third and fourth grade students will take the PSSA exams. Third and fourth grade students take the ELA and Math exams. The fourth graders also take the Science exams. The PSSA exams must be administered at school. Instead of the traditional “paper and pencil” tests, we will implement the online version of the PSSA exams, which is the testing format we implemented successfully at Hoover in 2019. Students will use their Chromebooks to take these exams. All D-1 students will take the exams in their regularly scheduled homeroom classes at Hoover. The desks in our third and fourth grade classrooms are spaced three feet apart. By using the cafeteria to help our students spread out, we ensure that all third and fourth grade students eat lunch six feet away from their peers.

The testing schedule is as follows:

June 2, 3, 4 – ELA PSSA for Third Grade – 9:30 am – 11:00 am

June 2, 3, 4 – ELA PSSA for Fourth Grade – 9:30 am – 11:30 am

June 7 and 8 – Math PSSA for Third Grade – 9:30 am – 11:00 am

June 7 and 8 – Math PSSA for Fourth Grade – 9:30 am – 11:30 am

June 9 and 10 – Science PSSA for Fourth Grade – 9:30 am – 10:30 am

In order to ensure that our students can take the PSSA exams in the morning, we will modify our Master Schedule during the PSSA testing days.

June 2, 3, 4 – Third Grade students will have Math instruction from 2:10 pm to 3:10 pm (Sforza will have Math from 1:10 to 2:10).

June 2, 3, 4 – Third Grade students will have Lunch, Recess, and Specials at their regularly scheduled times.

June 7 and 8 – Third Grade students will have Lunch, Recess, and Specials at their regularly scheduled times.

June 2, 3, 4 – Fourth Grade students will have Math instruction from 1:35 pm to 2:35 pm.

June 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10 – Fourth Grade students will have Lunch and Recess at their regularly scheduled times.

June 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10 – Fourth Grade students will have Specials from 2:45 pm to 3:25 pm.

June 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10 – Maguire, Krantz, Rafferty, and Rihl will have specials from 9:15 am to 9:55 am.

If your child is currently in our D-1 (virtual program) or in the Neshaminy School District Virtual Academy, you can bring your child to school during the testing times. You can then pick your child up when the testing has been completed, if you would like to do that. If you send your child to school on the bus, your child can then go home on the bus at the regularly scheduled time, or you can pick up your child at the end of the testing period.

If you have any questions regarding the PSSA test administration at Hoover, please do not hesitate to call me at (215) 809-6340 or email me at dglennon@neshaminy.org .
