General Information
Cooper Kindness Tree Lighting & Spaghetti Dinner
What a GREAT NIGHT we had at Cooper on Tuesday! Thank you to all who joined us for our tree lighting and amazing pasta meal made by our very own Mr. Brett Gunderson with help from his wife and several Cooper Staff elves! A HUGE thank you to Mr. G for his generous idea to feed our Cooper Community and then going above and beyond to ACTUALLY FEED our Cooper Community!!! Thank you to those who volunteered their time to help prepare and serve as well! Another big thank you goes out to Mr. Andy Hauswirth and his granddaughter, Aimee, for volunteering their time to entertain us all during our meal (and who then also saved the day with his equipment when he had a technical difficulty during our countdown to lighting our tree!!!)! Thank you for the snacks and goodwill donations, for the gathering of community, and a great night of fun and cheer!
Winter Sing-Along Concerts & Celebration of Giving
The 21st Annual Cooper Celebration of Giving is here! If you would like to sponsor a child or donate a monetary amount, scan the QR codes below. On the day of our winter concerts - Friday, December 13th at 10 am & 1:30 pm - themed gift baskets will be silently auctioned and student craft projects will be for sale in our Cooper Library as well. All proceeds will be used to support Superior children in need during the holiday season and throughout the year! All details can be found below!
If you are not able to attend either of our concerts in person, we hope to have them livestreamed as well as a recording uploaded to our district YouTube page:
From the Desk of Mrs. Stariha
Cooper Families,
Our winter concert is right around the corner! We will have two opportunities (10:00am and 1:30pm) for you to come see your child sing on Friday, December 13th. Below is some information on concert protocol and dismissal.
We will be doing an all-school sing along at the end of the concerts again this year. If you are able to stay until the end, we strongly encourage it! You won't want to miss the finale!
Once the 1:30pm concert has finished, all teachers will bring their students back to the classrooms to get their belongings ready.
If you plan to pick up your child after the second concert, they will be checked out from the classrooms this year.
Kindergarten and first grade families, we will have staff down in the kindergarten/first grade commons to help get your child from the classroom and support with making sure they have their belongings.
To reduce the congestion in the hallways, please have one adult go down to get your child.
Please message your child’s teacher prior to December 13th if you plan to pick them up after the afternoon concert.
Our Celebration of Giving will be taking place in the back of the gymnasium. We encourage everyone to check out the amazing crafts and baskets the classes have been working on. A reminder that all proceeds will be used to support children in need during the Holiday season and throughout the year.

The Great Kindness Challenge
It's that time of year where Cooper participates in The Great Kindness Challenge! Our students are given a list of 50 acts of kindness that they work to perform in the month of December. Kindness and generosity are our character traits this month, and we are working to highlight the idea that there are so many ways to be kind and to give to others, and that can happen without being asked and without spending any money! And as an added bonus, acts of kindness and generosity not only make other people feel good, they are good for the giver too! Even the smallest acts of kindness are good for your health and reduce stress. Attached is the Great Kindness Challenge Family Edition. Give it a try with your family and talk about how it goes.
School Photos
Lifetouch sent our school this code that should apply 10% off of your school picture orders at lifetouch.com if you haven't already ordered this year! Before you click order though, try out the codes in the second photo! They say they expired on December 1st, but we have heard that they were still working as of yesterday! Worth a try!
